Sip, paint, Orange Room style! 🎨💦

We’ve all seen those lovely Sip & Paint sessions for grown-ups, so the children decided they deserved their own version too! 😄

Their educator set up a table with flowers and pictures for inspiration, then let the children loose with chalkboards, chalks, whiteboards and pens to create their own masterpieces.

With plenty of water on hand to keep everyone hydrated and cool, it was the perfect way to spend a relaxing afternoon getting creative 🌸💧🎨

We think the little artists did a great job! 💛

Our Orange Room children have been making the most of the warmer weather with lots of exciting ways to stay cool!

From splashing in water trays and rescuing toy cars trapped in blocks of ice, to enjoying a fun-filled water fight with their friends in the garden, there have been plenty of smiles all around💧

As the temperatures rise, we adapt our activities to help children stay safe, comfortable and engaged. Water and ice play aren't just great fun, they also encourage curiosity, problem-solving, early maths skills and scientific thinking as children explore, experiment and discover together.

With the warm weather inspiring their play, our Nursery Class transformed their role play area into a busy ice cream stand.

The children worked together to decide what they would need, designed their own colourful ice creams and lollies, and even agreed on prices for each snack. Once the shop was open, they took turns serving customers and counting out pretend money to pay for their orders🍦

Role play like this is a fantastic way to develop early maths skills. As they play, children begin to recognise coins and notes, practise counting and start to understand the value of money all while building confidence, communication and teamwork.

Can something be a solid and a liquid at the same time?

Nursery Class put it to the test with homemade gloop! 💚

Made with just cornflour and water, this fascinating mixture is a non-Newtonian fluid. Hit it, squeeze it or pick it up and it feels solid... but leave it in your hand and it slowly melts back into a liquid! ✨

Inspired by all the tennis excitement over the past few weeks, our children have been busy creating their own sporting adventures 🎾

Out in the garden, they practised their tennis skills, developing hand-eye coordination, balance and concentration as they rallied with their friends!

Our Red Room also enjoyed a special picnic with fresh strawberries, before taking care of their dolls and teddies by making sure everyone had plenty to eat and drink 🍓🧸

From active play to imaginative role play, every activity helps our children build confidence, develop new skills and, most importantly, have fun together 💚

Inspired by their older siblings, our Green Room children had a sports day of their own! 🏃‍♂️✨

From running races to egg and spoon challenges, everyone took their turn and gave it a go, with lots of cheering and encouragement along the way 😊👏

Each child even received a ‘sports star’ ribbon 🏅

Harper designed her very own pizza 🍕😄

With a little help from her key person and friends, she created a shopping list of all the ingredients they needed to make a yummy creation!

Today, she brought it to life with a smiley monster pizza face 😊🍕

Harper did a fantastic job making a list of her ingredients, communicating her ideas, and even counting out the ingredient quantities as she went 👏

Learning really is this fun at Seymour House! 💛

Red Room at our Broomfield Road Nursery turned into a mini spa ✨🧖‍♀️

The children designed their own nails, explored hair tools, brushed their hair and checked themselves out in the mirror. They even felt different textures with nail buffers! 💅💇‍♀️

We finished with calming music, warm flannels, cucumbers and gentle massages for a super relaxing end 💚

Such a fun way to explore, create and unwind!

The children designed their own nails, explored hair tools, brushed their hair and checked themselves out in the mirror. They even felt different textures with nail buffers! 💅💇‍♀️
