Being able to provide children with real life experiences is such an effective way of teaching. The children have been able to fully experience the lifecycle of a butterfly through observing our caterpillars at the nursery.

Simple activities such as these are such an easy way to promote fine motor skills. During this activity the children used their hands to grab and pull some of the objects from the sticky wall. Throughout this activity the adult used single words to name the objects and their colour to help encourage speech and colour recognition.
As always all activities are age appropriate, allergy aware and supervised by adults.

This activity is so simple yet so much fun. The children have to use their critical thinking and hand and eye co-ordination skills whilst using the tweezers to remove the pompoms through the gaps in the tape, whilst counting each one.
As always all activities are age appropriate, allergy aware and supervised by adults.

Learning outdoors is such a fun, engaging way to build upon core skills. The children
have enjoyed exploring and investigating the recent variety of activities set up in the
garden. We used some planks of wood to make various size ramps for the monster trucks to go down and the children discovered angles and how they help to make the trucks go faster.
We had some warm blue water with different sized cylinders and jugs so that the
children could explore volume and capacity.
One of the turf trays was a giant spider web and the children had to use the tweezers
to free the insects and practice their fine motor skills.
We also encouraged the children to make up their own stories with the dinosaurs.
As always all activities are age appropriate, allergy aware and supervised by adults.
