The Stables Nursery is privately owned and managed by Susan Mann and Avis Richardson. Each have over 40 years of child care experience as nursery principals, mothers and now grandmothers. Susan and Avis understand just how important it is to provide a warm, safe and welcoming setting – one that they would want for their own grandchildren. Our nursery is well resourced and stimulating, but above all, we want every child to thoroughly enjoy their time at The Stables – their happiness is paramount. We strongly believe in working closely with parents and carers to obtain and then maintain a detailed understanding of the children in our care. Each child has a key person – one person who is dedicated to building a positive relationship with the child and ensuring their wellbeing. Together we can enable and encourage each child’s development and nurture the children into happy and confident individuals, prepared for their future schooling. Our most valuable resource is our large team of dedicated staff who implement the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’, the framework which sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. In addition to the excellent care provided by our dedicated nursery staff the children benefit from our large and secure outdoor play area and access to the nearby Galleywood Common. We take full advantage of our location and the children enjoy exploring the natural environment as often as possible, regularly using the common for activities such as nature walks and weather exploration.
