You could also make a collection of conkers and leaves. Use the latter to talk about sizes, shapes, similarities and differences.

If you are quick and the weather is dry, go for a walk on Galleywood Common, near the A12. The long grass has been cut and left on the ground. It feels very strange when you walk on it. Put lots of it together, to form a large mound and then jump into it. An alternative to a soft play area with a ball pit.

Find something soft.

Find thistles like those in the picture.

Find something that is brown.

Make a collection of leaves that have different shapes.

Find some blackberries that are nearly ready to eat.

Find a yellow flower like the one in the picture.

Find something green.

While the weather is good, take your child on a treasure hunt on Galleywood Common. Provide them with pictures of what they need to find.
