We weren't away for as long as usual this summer so we're going to sneak away again 🏃🏃🏃🏃 😀

I have throughly enjoyed this last week watching our small folk come back together after their summer break.
We welcomed two new little ones.
The 'welcome back cuddles' 😍 the smiles, the giggles, the joy and the sweetest conversations 👌 🥰

But now, a not quite so restful break at Center Parcs UK 😂 but so looking forward to something a bit different.
We are 6 this time with a gorgoues girlfriend joining us and an equally lovely boyfriend.

Can we keep up with them on the highropes is the question Billy Merrifield 😂

Thank you everyone, for your dedicated interest in Lulabelle's, it is so appreciated.

See you in a week ❤️

🌿✨ The Far-Off Land of Lulla Bell ✨🌿

Today our garden became a magical world of adventure!
Three little adventurers set off to explore the far-off land of Lulla Bell, discovering F's Dark Forest, H’s High Mountains, M's Mines and Louise’s Long Swing! 🗺️🌲⛰️

Along the way they braved an icy cave, crossed the stepping stones and faced plenty of exciting challenges.

Who needs a theme park when you have a garden, a little imagination and three brave adventurers? 💚✨

🐢 “Louise… he’s upside down!” 🐢

Sometimes the simplest little things become the starting point for a whole world of learning… 💚

One of our little ones has become completely smitten with a small wooden tortoise we picked up from the charity shop. She carries him everywhere, so when we went to Rhyme Time at the library and spotted Albert Upside Down, borrowing it was an absolute must! 📚🐢

We read the story together and then, inspired by Albert, created a habitat for our very own tortoise, filling our tray with characters and props from the story. 🌿 🐢

And then came the best part… I stepped back and let the children take the play wherever their imaginations wanted to go.

One little one loved exploring and comparing all the different textures and treasures in the tray.
Another was busy putting the tortoise in and out of his cave… again and again! 🪨
Another decided that Albert was hungry and carefully began feeding him the flowers. 🌸

And then, from across the room…
“Louise… he’s upside down!” 😂🐢
Of course he was!

What I love about following children's interests is that learning doesn't always need to be planned weeks in advance. Sometimes it starts with a little wooden tortoise from a charity shop, a gorgeous story from the library, about helping our friends and a whole lot of curiosity. ❤️

From storytelling and language, to sensory exploration, imaginative play, problem solving, positional language and developing those wonderful little social interactions… the learning was everywhere.

And most importantly, it was their play, their ideas and their Albert. 🐢💚

🚒 It was a HUGELY exciting day 🚒

We took our annual trip round the M25 to spend some time with our very own Billy Merrifield and the crew at Edmonton.

One of our little ones could barely contain her excitement according to her mummy and what a little delight she was, totally embracing this unique 'behind the scenes' experience 💕

We were lucky to have our friends from The Nourished Child join us which added another dimension to the day beautifully. Thank you for your company 🥰

And then there was my very own baby Jessica Merrifield who jumped at the chance to join us, enjoying it just as much as she did 15 years ago 😍

Thank you London Fire Brigade , thank you Edmonton for allowing our little ones this opportunity.
Fire safety experts in the making and maybe even our future firefighters 🥰 🥰

I'll let the pics do the rest of the talking...

🌸 “Can I pick some flowers?” 🌸

Such a simple little request… but little did she know that she would be challenging her hand/eye coordination and fine motor abilities, watching a bee do it's work and learning what flowers need whilst broadening her vocabulary

Sometimes the best learning really is hidden in the simplest moments. 💕🌿

🌞 What a lovely sunny day we had visiting Hopefield Animal Sanctuary! 🌞

I adore animals and one of the things that is really important to me as a childminder is helping our little ones to understand how to respect animals and recognise that this planet is ours to share. 🌍❤️

We saw so many beautiful animals, all being loved, cared for and given a safe place to call home by the amazing team at Hopefield.

Each animal has its own story, having been rescued for different reasons and trips like this always provide such a wonderful opportunity for conversations with our older early years children and school children

We talked about how some animals need a little extra help from humans, how some may be poorly or have additional needs and how it is our responsibility to care for them when they need us. 🐴🐷🐐🐑

We chatted to members of the team as we wandered around, learning more about the animals and the incredible work that goes on behind the scenes.
And staying on trend (of course! 😛 )we even bumped into and spoke to a very well-known local social media influencer! 🙈😂😂

An eventful, interesting and absolutely heartwarming day — finished off perfectly with some much-loved playtime in the soft play.

Thank you Hopefield for your unwavering dedication to the animals in your care and for being their voice when they need it most. 🐾❤️

Meet Winnie 🐾❤️

For all our lovely new followers who have joined us over the last couple of months, I thought it was about time you met one of the most important members of our little setting…

I'm Winnie, the Border Terrier! 🐶
I love snuggles with my two-legged friends — big ones and small ones! ❤️
Sometimes I get told off when my listening ears aren't working quite as well as they should 😂 but Mumma says I'm a very good girl most of the time! 🥰

I really like our small folk. They sit and watch me and I sit and watch them 👀❤️ They give me lovely strokes, and I like that very much!

I've been part of this setting for a long time, and I love watching the small humans play and grow. When they are big enough, they throw my ball for me and give me my drink and help make my dinner.

So, hello to all our new followers and to our long time followers… I'm Winnie, and I'm very pleased to meet you!

Love Winnie 🐾💕

✨ A little gem throughout the summer holidays! ✨

As childminders, we’re always thinking about keeping our little ones safe.and I absolutely love this innovative new safeguarding idea created by a childminder, for childminders 💛

My LittleLink ID has been a real little gem over the summer! It’s a professional ID card that, with a quick scan provides important information about who I am, my emergency contacts and the children I care for.

It gives me that extra bit of peace of mind, reassurance for parents and importantly, recognition when we’re out and about in our community.

I love that something so simple can make such a difference to how we are recognised as professional childminders and support us in keeping the children in our care safe.

A huge thank you to Little Link ID for such a superb idea and for all the hard work, passion and determination that has gone into getting this to the market for us, by one of us. 🥰

A little card with a BIG purpose! 💕
