Our Munchkins had lots of fun creating and exploring obstacle courses in the garden using our large-scale loose parts! πΏπͺ΅βοΈ
The children worked together to build different courses with increasing levels of difficulty, encouraging them to take risks, solve problems, and test their physical skills in a safe and exciting way.
Loose parts play provides endless opportunities for creativity, critical thinking, balance, coordination, and teamwork β and our Munchkins loved challenging themselves and each other throughout the activity! πͺπ

As part of May Mental Health Month, our Munchkins explored the power of a hug through a colourful and meaningful activity inspired by emotions and connection. ππ
The children used different paint colours on pieces of paper, which we then taped onto their tops. They each found a friend to share a hug with, and when they stepped back, they were amazed to see the colours had mixed together from their hug! π«π¨
This lovely activity encouraged the children to think about kindness, friendship, emotions, and how positive connections with others can make us feel happy and supported. It was wonderful to see so much laughter, excitement, and colourful creativity throughout the experience. β¨

Our Munchkins enjoyed a lovely creative activity making playdough faces using natural resources. πππΈ
We displayed different emotions on the table, including happy, sad, and frustrated faces, and the children spent time noticing the different expressions and talking about how they looked. Using leaves, sticks, flowers, and other natural treasures, the children then created their own playdough faces and explored emotions through play. β¨

Our Munchkins got creative by making their own natural paintbrushes using twigs, leaves, and other natural resources they found whilst out on a walk. πΏπ¨π
The children used their handmade brushes to create beautiful pictures and explored how the different leaves and materials made unique patterns and marks compared to ordinary paintbrushes. It was a fantastic way to encourage creativity, curiosity, and exploration through nature-based play. β¨
