The children loved our exciting Space theme!

They explored a variety of sensory trays, created their own rockets, and enjoyed non-fiction books to learn more about the solar system.

We were also very lucky to explore lots of wonderful space-themed items in our interest basket!

Absolutely thrilled to share that Springfield Bees Pre-School was nominated for the Inclusive Practice Award at the Essex Teaching Awards 2026!

We had a wonderful evening yesterday at the ceremony, we are incredibly grateful to have been recognised. This award category included early years settings, primary schools and secondary schools in Essex so simply being shortlisted was very special - and to receive a Highly Commended award was a real honour.

Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. It is so important to us that every child and family feels safe, comfortable, valued and supported.

Springfield Bees is such a special place and is cherished by so many. That is entirely thanks to our amazing staff, who go above and beyond every single day. It is wonderful to see our dedication, passion and hard work recognised in this way.

Thank you to everyone who is part of our Springfield Bees community

Last Thursday, the children participated in an outdoor World Cup Opening Ceremony activity using a colourful parachute and footballs.

They enthusiastically waved the parachute, kicked the balls, and celebrated together.

The children showed good coordination, turn-taking skills, excellent teamwork and physical skills while having lots of fun together as they helped "officially" open the Preschool World Cup.

Last Friday, we released our beautiful butterflies!

The children took part in a countdown and waved goodbye as we watched them fly off to explore the world.

It's important for children to learn how to manage hazards during play as practice for later on in life.

Playing on climbing equipment, whether indoors or outdoors, allows children to build their confidence as they engage in risky play under our supervision.

Using scissors to cut shapes out of a variety of materials is a fun activity to help your child to build the muscle strength and fine motor skills they will need in the future to hold pens and pencils comfortably.

We recently began delivering Early Talk Boost sessions in the Bumbles room, led by Viktoria and Sunita.

As part of this, the children will be enjoying a weekly story alongside fun, language-focused activities to support their communication and understanding.

We encourage you to continue this at home by sharing stories together and talking about them with your child.

We've had a fantastic time exploring our Under the Sea topic!

๐ŸŒŠ The children enjoyed a variety of creative and sensory activities, including making jellyfish using sand and glitter, creating under-the-sea animals with playdough, and exploring a coral reef tray.

๐ŸกSensory play has been very popular, especially our water bead tray linked to our ocean theme.

๐Ÿฆ€ We've also been learning about how to look after our oceans, discussing the importance of taking our rubbish home and staying safe when near the sea.

Last week the children made their own smoothies using bananas, strawberries and spinach.

At first the children were unsure to try it due to the green colour, however when Zoe suggested that she thought it looked like Hulk juice โ€“ it was a big hit!

Thankyou to Nourishing our future, the project we are partaking in with Anglia Ruskin University and nutritionist guidance, for gifting us the Nutribullet to use!

Earlier this month the children created some beautiful nature inspired art. After making the 'frame' they had the freedom to create their own original designs.

Activities like this encourage your child's self-expression and help them to build confidence in themselves and in the decisions they makeโ€”creative or otherwise.
