Alex Condliffe Music

he Southend Festival of Music and Arts, and won an astonishing 24 out of 27 classes over a 6 year period. During this time he also won a summer scholarship to the esteemed Chetham's School of Music in Manchester, and won the European Piano Teachers Association (PETA) competition. At 16, Alex passed with Merit his Diploma in Pianoforte Performance from The London College of Music (DipLCM), leading him to be accepted into the Nottingham University Music BA (Hons) course. He finished his three years of study with an upper 2:1 degree (focusing primarily on composition, performance, popular music and 20th Century studies), and having gained a wealth of experience working with some of the finest musicians, composers and lecturers in the country. Like most teenagers, Alex soon discovered a love for guitars, rock music and song-writing, which has stayed with him ever since. Alex's talent has seen him travel across the UK and Europe, playing and performing in numerous groups for thousands of people. He has performed in Venice, Barcelona, Croatia and Prague as a pianist as part of several music tours, and in his various bands has played at venues and festivals across the UK with established acts such as Bombay Bicycle Club, Bloc Party, The Libertines, Wheatus, Mark Ronson, Sub Focus, Kelis and countless others. As part of indie-rock band Tiger Blood, Alex spent 3 years writing, recording and touring across the UK. In his solo project, under the name Alex Fox, Alex has released 2 singles, an EP and a live EP, and has another EP and debut album under production. His single 'Doctor Doctor' was Track Of The Month on the 'BOB Best Of British' unsigned blog, and has been nominated numerous times for 'Best Solo Artist' in The Panic Awards, Chelmsford. Alex quickly became a much in demand and adept session musician, performing with Winston and The Lads! - professional wedding and function band (read more about them in the 'Performance Services' page), with country rock band The Southern Generals, and notorious party band and drinking collective The Drama Llamas. Alex also helps support the local music scene in Essex by running WALLOP! - a showcase night for both emerging unsigned acts and touring artists. A regular at Bassment Bar, Chelmsford, he has recently performed as part of Independent Venue Week (2017) and with Tall Dark Friend/Jordan Gray (The Voice Semi-Finalist, 2016). His hugely varied taste in music and wide-ranging performing experience has led to him writing and composing for the award-winning Extreme Music Library (Sony/ATV Music Publishing), joining a roster including Hans Zimmer, Quincy Jones, Snoop Dogg, Labrinth and many more. His debut single as Alex Fox, 'Doctor Doctor', was Track of the Week for 'BOB' - Best Of British Unsigned Blog (2015). His recent work/activity includes session work for Rock/Soul/Mod outfit The White Gospel,
singer-songwriter Kiera Court and playing keys for The Southern Generals as they supported The Turnpike Troubadours, who kicked off their 2017 European tour at Bassment Bar, Chelmsford. In short, Alex loves music. Playing, writing, recording, performing; anything and everything to do with music. It is simply what he does, and what he will always do.
