Hello all, Brad here who is one of the Dog Grooming lecturers at ARU.

If anyone requires any dog grooming to get them through the summer i have some availability on Canvey Island.

Ill be offering appointments on a first come first serve basis and prioritising breeds that require clipping and styling.

🐾 Summer Grooming Closure-tutor grooming information 🐾

As another academic year comes to an end, the college grooming salon will be closed over the summer.

We would like to thank all of our wonderful clients who have supported our students throughout the year and helped provide invaluable learning opportunities.

Many of your dogs require regular grooming, and we respectfully ask that coats are maintained throughout the summer months. Our student salon is a learning environment, and students gain the greatest benefit from working on dogs that allow them to develop their preparation, handling and scissor grooming skills.

Matted coats do not provide these learning opportunities. Therefore, from September onwards, we will not be accepting dogs that require extensive de-matting or clipping short due to poor coat maintenance.

Regular grooming throughout the year is the best way to keep your dog’s coat healthy, comfortable and suitable for student training.

Our tutor groomers oversee every student groom to ensure it meets our benchmark standards. All of our tutors are highly qualified professionals who run successful grooming businesses alongside their teaching roles. We therefore recommend contacting one of them to discuss summer grooming arrangements. Please be aware that they maintain busy client books of their own, so we encourage you to make contact early if your dog’s coat requires maintenance during the summer break. Please note that private grooming fees will differ from college grooming fees.
