Join us for a welcoming and inspiring Open Day at the Millrace Foundation in Chelmsford and discover how this unique local charity is helping people rebuild confidence, improve wellbeing, and develop valuable life skills through creativity and community support.

Based at Moulsham Mill, the Millrace Foundation provides therapeutic furniture restoration, upcycling, and vocational training opportunities for people recovering from mental and physical health challenges. During the open day, visitors will have the chance to explore the workshop, meet the team, learn about the charity’s work, and see firsthand how restored furniture and hands-on projects are making a positive difference in people’s lives.

Whether you are interested in mental health support, volunteering, furniture restoration, community projects, or simply want to support a fantastic local charity, we would love to welcome you.

Come along, ask questions, see demonstrations, and discover how Millrace has been supporting the Chelmsford community for more than 30 years.

After 13 incredible years, our doors closed for the final time last night. We chose to share this news afterward because a big fanfare didn’t feel like us. We wanted to close with dignity and let the work speak for itself.

The UK hospitality industry is facing unprecedented challenges. Between rising costs and government pressures, it became increasingly difficult to operate at our non-negotiable standards. We refused to compromise on quality, and closing at the top—with our integrity intact—felt like the only way to honor what we built.

To our guests: thank you. You are the reason we showed up every day. To our extraordinary team: your talent has been everything. The great news is our core team is staying together. Andy, Carol, and the team are channeling their energy into , , and —and we are genuinely excited for the future.

What’s next?

The Space: Will remain active as the Limeberry tasting studio and for private events. For inquiries, email [email protected].

Spring 2027: We are taking a breath before launching a brand-new venture for The New London.

Important Logistics:

✨ Existing Bookings: We are absolutely honoring all weddings and group celebrations already booked with us.

🎟️ Gift Vouchers: Every valid voucher will be refunded in full. We are working through these now and will be in touch over the next few weeks.

Thank you for 13 wonderful years. It has been the greatest privilege.

With love and gratitude,

Justin, Andy & Carol ❤️
