This year at Icenian Afternoon on Saturday 4th July, we’re excited to host our very first Rugby Touch Tournament. It’ll be 6-a-side with rolling subs, and everyone is welcome to enter a team or join one:

More importantly, this tournament will be held in honour of Kyle Kitteridge.
Kyle spent his entire school journey at Langley, starting at Langley Prep on Thorpe Road and continuing through to Sixth Form. He embodied everything it means to be an Icenian: laughter, friendship, determination, resilience and Perseverando. On the rugby field, he gave everything he had, proudly representing Langley 1XV and Leicester Tigers.
That’s why it feels so fitting to celebrate his life and spirit through the Kyle Kitteridge Cup.

Teaching Politics is a strange and wonderful thing.

Over the last 14 years I’ve had the distinctly educational pleasure of repeatedly going off piste as constitutional change has unfolded in real time. Electoral reform. Scottish nationalism. BREXIT. Six Prime Ministers in six years. Trump (twice). Ongoing conflicts. Criticisms of NATO, the EU, the Arab League and the UN. The rise of populism.
