Last week, John Kennett came to visit our pupils at Kings Academy. John is the CEO of Physical Mind London, who invented the revolutionary HiFiM, a machine which can be used to exercise in space. We were very lucky, as John provided the opportunity for our pupils to do a Q & A as part of their enrichment programme. Johnโ€™s last statement was, โ€œSpace is changing so fast and it is very likely that at least one of the students here will in their lifetime go into space.โ€ ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ”ญ๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿš€

Just as most of us sign off and relax for the summer, some of our star athletes will be doing the complete opposite as they ramp up the training. We have Noah and Jack who have just been signed for Somerset FC, Bethany who represents Somerset Athletics, Sam who continues to represent GB in Acrobatic Gymnastics and Verity who represents Somerset in cricket. All of these pupils work tirelessly to be the best they can be, so well done!! โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ

As we wrapped up the academic year at King's, the final week was certainly one to remember!

From an action-packed Sports Day and Activities Day to exciting trips abroad, celebrating our House Cup winners, and coming together for our end-of-term assembly, it was a fantastic way to end the year.

Alongside the celebrations, we also said a heartfelt farewell to our CEO, Gavin Ball. We thank Gavin for his leadership, dedication and commitment to the King's community, and wish him a long and happy retirement.

A wonderful end to another memorable year at King's. Wishing all of our students, staff and families a happy, safe and restful summer! ๐ŸŒž

Iceland Trip 2026 โ„๏ธ๐ŸŒ‹
Some of our Geography and Chemistry students have had an unforgettable time exploring the incredible landscapes of Iceland!

After unwinding in the famous Blue Lagoon on arrival, they explored the sights of Reykjavik, taking in the iconic Hallgrรญmskirkja church, inspired by Iceland's basalt columns, the colourful Rainbow Street, Harpa Concert Hall and the bustling harbour.

The next day was spent discovering the spectacular south coast, with visits to Vรญk and its dramatic black sand beaches, breath-taking waterfalls, and Dyrhรณlaey, where students were lucky enough to see Iceland's famous puffins.

Day three took in the iconic Golden Circle, including the mighty Gullfoss waterfall and the erupting geysers, followed by a well-earned ice cream stop at a local dairy farm. The group then explored รžingvellir National Park, the only place in the world where you can walk between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. They rounded off an amazing trip with a swim in a local outdoor pool before catching an early flight home... and returning to the summer heat! ๐ŸŒž

What an incredible experience and a fantastic opportunity to see first-hand the geography and geology they've been learning about in the classroom. ๐ŸŒโœจ
