Yesterday we celebrated National Thank a Teacher Day!

We're so grateful to our wonderful teaching staff for supporting our students to achieve their greatest potential, day in, day out.

In Royal College Manchester, our teachers enjoyed snacks and drinks in the Immersive Space, where they could each select a tasty prize from a treat box! They also received a personalised handwritten note to thank them for their passion and dedication.

In Royal School Manchester, across the screens we had individual slides to thank each teacher, using three words used to describe them! They also received a lovely notebook and pen.

Thank you for everything you do 💙

We believe every young person should be able to experience a festival. So, we bring one to Seashell with our annual Sights and Sounds Festival!

Our mini festival celebrates all things sensory, with plenty of inclusive activities for everyone. We had face painting, a sensory tunnel, garden games, an ice cream van, fish and chips, cakes and drinks, a live band, and even an indoor nightclub!

Thank you to KK Catering UK for supplying tasty fish and chips, and The Garden Club Hire for providing a free indoor nightclub for us to rave the day away with glowsticks.

It was lovely to have our students and their families spend a windy afternoon with us on Sir Norman Stoller Way. Until next year!

"He wanted to run around and do everything his class friends were doing...but his wheelchair was a barrier. At Seashell there are no limitations on what Bailey can do."

This Learning Disability Week we wanted to share one of our amazing family stories. We spoke to Abi and Mike Jennings, whose son Bailey accesses our CADS inclusive Children's Activities and Disabled Sports. This weekend and school holiday club is a lifeline for parents of children with SEND, as it means their child can enjoy activities in an inclusive and accessible environment while they have some much-needed respite.

CADS is very popular but we are able to offer other sporting activities. See our website for more details or email [email protected] if you'd like to learn more.

We're honoured to be The Brit Fest charity partner for 2026!

The event is just a few weeks away and we're once again going to be at the music festival with some of our students and staff to raise awareness (and funds) for Seashell! And we're in good company too. Wet Wet Wet, Jason Donovan, Eternal and Doctor and the Medics are just some of the acts who will be performing.

Charity partnerships are a great way of getting our message out to a new audience, as well as being a fun activity that some of our students can enjoy. We'll also be selling raffle tickets and asking festival-goers to donate to our cause.

You can read more about the partnership and how you can get involved here:

Congratulations to Seashell’s CEO Brandon Leigh on being awarded ‘Outstanding Support for the Emergency Services’ at the 2026 Wilmslow Community Awards!

Brandon has volunteered as a Community First Responder for North West Ambulance since 2019. As well as a full time job at Seashell, Brandon is on call during many evenings and weekends when he responds to the most serious 999 calls. He can often be the first on the scene to cardiac arrests and other life-threatening emergencies, providing critical lifesaving intervention until the ambulance arrives.

Brandon said: "It was an honour to receive the award alongside other community volunteers. It is a role which is a privilege to perform to be able to help someone in their hour of need."

At Seashell, our students can.

We made this special video to showcase what we're all about - removing barriers for our students to achieve their full potential.

Thank you to ABCD School of Dance who came into our Sports Hall every week to teach our College students a fantastic routine. And of course thank you to all of our wonderful staff who support our students to sing, dance, and do anything.

This video is about more than just music. Our students achieve their goals and grow in confidence, ability and gain skills for life.

We can dance, we can jive... we can do anything!

Did you know that 11.9 million people are currently providing unpaid care in the UK?

A carer is someone who provides unpaid care and support to a family member, neighbour or friend who has a disability, illness, mental health condition, addiction, or who needs extra help as they grow older.

Current data shows that 1 in 7 of any workforce is estimated to be combining their paid job alongside a caring role.

This , we're here to support our employees. We're setting up a staff carers network to create a support system for those who need it. Keep an eye on your staff email for dates and times.
