The second piece that I performed from last week!

Don't be weary Traveller arranged by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor (1875–1912). a pioneering Afro-British composer.

This piece sets out a filled out melody of the spiritual, then proceeds to vary it based on a different themes, each apply different melodic and rhymical variation. There are also a surprising amount of large jumps as decoration notes, as well as unusual harmony and chords which make it more tricky to learn.
Melody : 5/10
Difficulty: 8/10
Technique: 8/10
Fun: 5/10
Melodic and rhythmic variation: 6/10
Overall: 6.4/10

Self critique of performances:
Notes : 6/10
Dynamics: 6/10
Expression: 4/10
Time Taken: 2/10
4.5/10 - Give then time pressure to learn this I really didn't have much time to give this as much finessing as I would have wanted

Check out my new performance of Chopin Nocturne No. 9 No. 2. Got a bit frustrated with recording this one, every time I do a good take will have some equipment malfunctioning so this is as good as a take as I got.

This one is quite a technical piece, lots of big jumps, melodic and harmony changes,:
9/10 for Melody
7/10 for difficulty
7/10 for techniques required
6/10 for fun
8/10 for melodic and rhythmic variation
Overall: 7.4/10

Self critique of performances:
Notes : 7/10
Dynamics: 8/10
Expression: 7/10
Time Taken: 3/10
6.25/10 - Expression is always an important part in Chopin, but this piece has me stuck trying to be perfectionist, meticulously trying to get the notes and expression right.

Check out my new video and channel! Piano Sonata in C minor (k.457) by Wolfgang Mozart.

One of Mozart's few minor key sonatas, this was a dedicated to Theresia von Trattner (1758–1793), Mozart's Pupil who when become Mozart's children's Godparents. The piece was written with Fantasy in C minor

This one is quite a technical piece, lots of big jumps, melodic and harmony changes,:
8/10 for Melody
8/10 for difficulty
8/10 for techniques required
9/10 for fun
9/10 for melodic and rhythmic variation
Overall: 8.4/10

Self critique of performances:
6/10 - One of the the more technically challenging pieces, while passages individually aren't difficult, the length of of the piece demands a lot of mental strength and stability to perform one take successfully ... and this performance is far from perfect with little mistakes dotted all around

Check out my new video and channel! Doctor Gradus Ad Parnassum by Claude Debussy

The first movement of Children's corner, a collection of piano pieces written by Debussy dedicated to his daughter. Gradus Ad Parnassum, meaning "steps to Parnassus", was often used in naming instruction studies like from Czenry and Clementi. So it's a little piece that pokes fun at that, as it turns into a beautiful piece with a singing melody.

A simple piece for the notes, but quite challenging to get the melody ringing out right:
8/10 for Melody
8/10 for difficulty
8/10 for techniques required
8/10 for fun
7/10 for melodic and rhythmic variation
Overall: 7.8/10

Self critique of performances:
7/10 - It's more fun playing it fast, most of the melodic top notes where there, and most of the long phrases are connected. Not as fast as the masters but I'm not a master so its ok!
