Medway Test (11+) tuition isn’t just about sitting practise papers 📝

If your child is in Year 5, now is a great time to start building the skills, confidence and strategies they’ll need for the Medway Test.

Practise papers are just one part of the preparation.
At Strive Tuition, our sessions focus on teaching children how to approach questions, not simply giving them more to complete.

✨ English
✨ Maths
✨ Verbal reasoning
✨ Non-verbal reasoning
✨ Problem-solving strategies
✨ Understanding different question types
✨ Building confidence with unfamiliar questions

Children have the opportunity to discuss their thinking, work through examples and understand the methods behind the answer.

With capped groups of just eight children, every child can take part, ask questions and receive the support they need.

Read carefully, take your time and use the strategies you’ve practised. If one question feels difficult, don’t let it throw you - move on and come back to it.

Tonight’s Learning with Crystal ✨

📚 Maths – Place Value
Crystal worked on place value in a GL-style context, developing her ability to identify the value of digits within larger numbers and apply this knowledge to exam-style questions.

🧩 NVR – Shape Patterns
We also focused on identifying changes in shape patterns, looking carefully at how shapes move, rotate, change position and develop from one stage to the next.

A great session building both mathematical reasoning and non-verbal reasoning skills! 🌟
