I have experience in teaching a wide range of students. I am a recently retired, fully qualified teacher of maths with over 15 years of experience teaching in secondary schools - both Grammar Schools and High Schools.
............or at least I thought I was until I was persuaded to go back into the classroom by a colleague. I have a full, enhanced DBS certificate. I also have a 1st class Honours degree in Maths with Statistics from the Open University. During the COVID lock-downs I have had to embrace new skills and have learnt how to use Microsoft Teams to teach on-line. I now remember how it feels when you really struggle to produce what is needed - a humbling, useful reminder of how my students sometimes feel. I have taught, and I am able to tutor, a wide range of students, both young and old. I have recent experience of successfully teaching the following qualifications:
- GCSE to both Foundation and Higher (Edexcel and AQA)
- AQA Level 2 Further Maths
- AS Statistics
- AS Pure Maths
- Numeracy Skills Test and equivalency exams for adults looking to further their current careers. My latest post is in a secondary school for students who are unable to access the learning in a mainstream environment. It will definitely be challenging but I believe every students deserves every possible chance to achieve.
