Kestrel Playgroup

Term 4 was a very busy term starting with numeracy week, then we celebrated World Book Day and Mother’s Day, then Pirate Week where we learnt our Pirate Names! We learnt about animals and their habitats and life cycles and watched our frogspawn become tadpoles! We ended the term by celebrating Easter, making bunny ears, Easter biscuits and the Easter Bunny came to visit and played in the garden!

We have enjoyed using our small muscles, healthy living week and celebrated Chinese New Year, Pancake Day and Valentine’s Day with a super fun valentines disco on the last day of term! ❤️ Happy Half Term everyone! 😊 ❤️

We have had a blast the first two weeks back after Christmas Break here at Kestrel Under 5s! We have enjoyed Superhero Week followed by Large Muscle Skills Week! largemuscleskills

We have made it through a very long term, finishing off today with two fun Christmas parties! All the Aunties at Kestrel Under 5s would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2026! ❤️ 🎄

We have spent the last few weeks celebrating Halloween, Fireworks Night, Remembrance Day and World Diabetes Day. We have also begun our Christmas crafts, along with Rising 5s activities and learning and playing with our friends!

This has been a great first term back after the summer break. We have been working on our fine and gross motor skills, counting and number recognition, literacy and listening skills, we celebrated Rosh Hashana and learnt about kindness and have enjoyed being outside in our lovely garden! Goodbye summer, hello autumn! Happy Half Term everyone, see you next week for more fun and learning adventures! 😊

The last 2 weeks we have been enjoying literacy with The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Owl Babies and Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and working on our fine and gross motor skills! 😊

A great first week back settling our newbies and returning children! We enjoyed getting to know each other, reacquainting, inside and outside play, sensory play, imaginative play, crafting and making new friends! 😊

All the Aunties at Kestrel Under 5s are looking forward to starting the new term next week. We can’t wait to meet our new starters, welcome back our returning children and enjoy lots of learning and fun adventures together! 😊 ❤️

We celebrated VE Day - 80 Years, with a mini party, lots of crafts, temporary tattoos and a 2 minute silence which the children did so well! We have also been continuing to learn about life cycles, proudly showing our growing bean plants and watching our tadpoles and caterpillars grow too!
