Wayfield Primary School
An ever expanding, innovative school at the heart of the Wayfield community educating 2-11 year olds
Well, that’s a wrap on the 2025–2026 school year in Team Hanks!
As we come to the end of another wonderful year, we are saying goodbye to our amazing children who are moving on to Jade Class. It has been an exceptional year, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything they have achieved. They have grown in confidence, built lovely friendships, developed new skills, and reached so many fantastic milestones along the way.
Although we will miss seeing them in Team Hanks every day, we are excited that they will only be next door, and we can’t wait to watch them continue to learn, grow, and shine in Jade Class.
Michelle, Lisa and Mandy are incredibly proud of every single one of our superstars. Thank you for filling our year with smiles, laughter, and so many special memories.
We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our families for your kindness, support, and encouragement throughout the year. It has been a pleasure working alongside you, and we truly appreciate each and every one of you.
We wish you all a wonderful, fun-filled, and relaxing summer holiday. Stay safe, make lots of happy memories, and we look forward to seeing many of you again in September!

We did it Team Smith! Year 5 is over 😢 I am so incredibly proud of each and every one of you. You have all grown and achieved so much this year and it has been a pleasure to have been your teacher. Thank you for my fantastic gifts and cards, it’s so kind of you to think of me. I hope that you all have a restful summer and that the sun shines for you ☀️

Time to spend the Summer researching and finding 190 ‘child appropiate’ songs with the word ‘diamond’ in the title for our intro / outro music for each day…. I hope you all have a restful Summer, whatever it is you have planned. I cannot wait to hear all about your break when we meet again in September!
Thank you all for the lovely gifts (I can’t wait to wear my new socks on the first day of term and I have already eaten 5 of the mini donuts and a cupcake! Oops!), cards and kind words, they really do add a little bit of sprinkle to an already rewarding job.
Well done to the children, for all of your hard work this year too!
From a very proud Mr. Armstrong! 🥳🤓

It was lovely to have the gang back together again today in Team Watson. We enjoyed sharing our games and I am officially the Year 2 connect 4 champion!
Mr Fletcher and I are so proud of everyone and all of their achievements this year, as should they be. They have embodied our Wayfield values every day and have made us laugh, cry ( in a good way) and we have enjoyed being part of their Wayfield journey.
Thank you for all the lovely gifts, cards and kind words.
We hope you have a lovely restful summer.

🌟 Penultimate Week in Washington 🌟
It’s hard to believe we have reached our penultimate week in Washington. It’s almost that time of year when we wish our lovely team well done and good luck as they move on to Year 2. 🎉
We have had another busy and exciting week! ✨ In DT, we had a wonderful time making castles from cardboard boxes, carefully including all the features we have been learning about. 🏰 In Maths, we continued practising telling the time to o’clock and half past. 🕒
We rounded off our History topic with a fantastic trip to Rochester Castle. 🏰 The children were so excited to see everything they have been learning about firsthand. They enjoyed discovering more from the information boards, spending time with our wonderful parent helpers, and climbing all the way to the top of the castle, where they were rewarded with spectacular views of the River Medway, Rochester Station and the magnificent Rochester Cathedral. 🌤️
A huge thank you to all of our parent helpers for making this trip such a memorable experience. 💛 You were all amazing with the children, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
We also wrote messages about how we are feeling ahead of Year 2 in preparation for our transition days. ✏️ The children embraced the experience with confidence, excitement and great expectations! They have settled in beautifully and are full of smiles 😊, eagerly giving me a sneak peek, where possible into all the wonderful things they have been getting up to with the lovely Mrs Boushear.❤️
📌 A few reminders:
⏰ School will finish promptly at 2:00 pm next Tuesday 21st July, and there will be no after-school clubs.
📄 Reports, phonics screening results, attendance data and, where applicable, Individual Learning Plans have all been sent home. Please take some time to read through these, and if you have any questions, feel free to catch me on Monday or Tuesday morning.
🎒 The children also brought home their Year 2 project homework and Year 2 information today.
📚 Please ensure your child brings their school bag on Tuesday, as they will be taking all of their books home.
Have a lovely weekend.
