The NHS in England is short 12,000 hospital doctors and more than 50,000 nurses and midwives, according to recent study by the Nuffield Trust, which was highlighted in a new report from the committee.
The number of GPs also decreased by more than 700 during the course of three years, until March 2022, and it was said that maternity services are "under unsustainable pressure."
By the beginning of the next decade, it is predicted that an additional 475,000 jobs would be needed in the health sector and an additional 490,000 positions in the social care sector.
