🌟See you soon! 🌟

We are really looking forward to welcoming all of our children and families back to school on Monday 7th September. The school gates will open at the usual time of 8:30am and we can’t wait to see everyone again after the summer break.

A very special welcome to all of our new children joining us in EYFS! We are so excited to meet you and begin this wonderful journey together.

Today, our teachers have been busy in school for an INSET day, getting everything ready for the new school year. We’re looking forward to having the whole team back together tomorrow, to complete important training and to ensure learning spaces are ready for the children.

There is a real buzz of excitement around school and we can’t wait for Monday.

See you all very soon! 💕

Yesterday we said goodbye to our fantastic Year 6 children.

The last few days have been packed with shirt signing, our Memories Assembly with parents, a celebratory disco, and finally being waved off through a guard of honour created by our Year 4 and Year 5 children. It was the perfect way to celebrate everything they have achieved during their time with us.

As you take your next steps towards secondary school, remember how much you've grown and all that you've achieved.

"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." – A.A. Milne

Keep believing in yourselves, embrace every opportunity and never stop being curious.

Good luck, Year 6 💙

🎉 End of Year Celebration Assembly🎉

Today was a little bit different! Instead of our usual Shining Stars, each teacher nominated one child from their class to receive a Headteacher's Award.

It was wonderful to hear the many reasons why each child had been chosen. We really do have some fantastic little people in our school and every single one of them should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved this year. Collectively, as a school community, we have so much to celebrate.

None of this would be possible without our amazing staff team. It is a privilege to work alongside such dedicated colleagues who go above and beyond every single day for our children. Thank you for everything you do!

Congratulations also to Camelot House, who earned the most house points this year! They celebrated in style with an extra playtime and the House Cup now has pride of place in our office window. 👏

Finally, we shared some very exciting personal news as we celebrated Miss Burnett, who is getting married this summer! She'll be returning to school as Mrs Tuck. The children have created a special message jar full of well wishes to help Mr and Mrs Tuck celebrate their big day❤️

The children are now back in class, enjoying their final day in their classes. We look forward to seeing everyone at the usual collection time of 3:15, ready for the summer holidays to begin!

🌊🐬 Year 1 Gives Pollution the Big Thumbs Down! 🐬🌍
Last week, Year 1 had an inspiring visit from Sharon and Joshua from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue.
They taught us all about the dangers of frisbees with missing centres and the serious threat they pose to marine life. We listened to fascinating real-life rescue stories and learned about the impact that pollution has on our oceans and the animals that live there. The children were incredibly engaged and asked some thoughtful questions.
The visit really sparked something in the children. They decided that this was something they wanted to do more to support. Putting their thinking caps together, they came up with the fantastic idea of publishing and selling their very own books to raise money for the British Divers Marine Life Rescue.
Thanks to the incredible support of our families, we are delighted to share that the children raised an amazing £45, which has now been donated to the charity!
The most rewarding part of this project has been seeing the children realise that they can make a real difference. They have seen first-hand that they can have a positive impact and contribute towards helping animals in need. One child was even inspired to carry out their own litter pick after the visit – a wonderful example of learning being turned into action.
Year 1 certainly gave pollution the big thumbs down! We hope this experience continues to inspire the children to care for the incredible coastline and wildlife we are so lucky to have here in Cornwall, remembering that even the smallest actions can make a big difference.
A huge thank you to everyone who supported this wonderful cause. Together, we have shown our children that their ideas, kindness and actions really can make a difference.

EYFS had a fantastic time exploring Newquay Zoo on their school trip last week. The children were exceptionally well behaved and thoroughly enjoyed learning about a wide range of animals from around the world. It was wonderful to see their curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the day. A big thank you to all the parents who helped make the trip possible by volunteering their time and support. We really appreciate it!

⭐ A Huge THANK YOU to Friends of Charlestown School (FOCS)! ⭐

As we come to the end of another fantastic academic year and after an incredible week of fundraising events including the school disco and summer fair, we would like to say a very big THANK YOU to our amazing FOCS Team.

Throughout the year, FOCS have worked tirelessly to organise a range of brilliant events that have not only raised an incredible amount of money for our school, but have also created lasting memories and special experiences for our children.

Thanks to the dedication of FOCS and the wonderful support from our families and wider community, funds raised have contributed towards school trips, climbing equipment, new books, playground resources, transport costs and so much more.

Thank you to every member of FOCS, every volunteer and everyone who has attended, supported or donated to an event this year.

Your generosity, enthusiasm and willingness to help make a real difference to the opportunities we are able to provide.

We truly couldn't do it without you.

📚✨ Today, we proudly celebrated ASONE Celebration Day across all 21 Kernow Learning Schools! ✨📚

This year’s theme was inspired by the National Year of Reading, bringing our school communities together through a shared love of books and storytelling.

The children enjoyed a wonderful day of activities, including:
📖 Sharing stories with their buddy classes and a special class assembly
🧺 A special picnic lunch with friends (in addition to two frogs joining us!)
🔎 A reading-themed book scavenger hunt around the school grounds

It has been fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork and joy as children of all ages came together to celebrate reading.
