Today was a big day full of firsts…!

We had the wonderful opportunity to fill a space last minute in the itinerary at the vivary park bandstand and perform to a wonderful audience!

It was my first public performance in over 9 months!
Eden and Darcy sang a solo each and 2 duets! Both of their first times performing in a situation like this!
And our wonderful ex-student Ava sang an incredible 10 solos!! Almost the length of an entire professional set list and she’s only 13!!

I am so proud to have even had the smallest part to play in all 3 of these girls’ tuition over the years!

A huge well done to all 3 of them!!

🎶 Music at the Bandstand is back for September! 🎶

We’ve got a few last-minute changes to the line-up, but the music is still coming thick and fast in Vivary Park!

Here’s what’s coming up:

🎭 Sunday 6 September | 3pm–5pm
Bethany Brown’s School of Musical Theatre - A wonderful repertoire of tunes from stage and screen.

🎻 Sunday 13 September | 11am–1pm
10 Strings Attached – Acoustic Music Duo, rescheduled from an earlier date.

🎺 Sunday 13 September | 3pm–5pm
Tone Big Band – bringing the big band sound to Vivary Park.

👩‍🎤 Sunday 20 September | 3pm–5pm
Taunton Military Wives Choir - the ever popular choir return.

🎷 Sunday 27 September | 3pm–5pm
West Somerset Brass Band will close our September programme in style!

And with Taunton Together taking place on Saturday 26, the final weekend of September will be a brilliant celebration of music, culture and community in Taunton. 💜

What a FAB week!

This week we have done something exceptionally special!

We have been the first EVER (Worldwide!!!) theatre group to come together in rehearsals for the performance of “The Grand Magician’s Quest!” Written by a wonderful script writer especially for BB’s!
The show will take its debut in Chard at Holyrood Academy tomorrow afternoon!

As well as that we have also recorded the original cast recording for our very own backing tracks!

Watch this space - I am certain that tomorrow will not be the last time you see “The Grand Magician’s Quest!”
If local am dram groups are interested in producing their own version then please get in touch !!

Otherwise we hope to see you all at the school at 4pm for a 4:15 start!! 🎭

We’re currently enjoying a VERY successful and seriously fun summer school week doing “The Grand Magician’s Quest”
The show is at 4:15 on Friday afternoon! Free entry and Open to public. Holyrood school main hall

From the 12th of September our normal Saturday morning classes will resume (WE ARE TAKING ON NEW STUDENTS TOO!!)

Also as of the 12th- we will start our BRAND NEW afternoon adults only BBs class! 2-4:30!

Hello lovely followers!!

We are looking for some artistic volunteers to help with some scenery and props for our summer school!

Our summer school is running at Holyrood academy from the
24th - 28th August. The show will be at 4:15 on the Friday afternoon

“The Grand Magician’s quest” a very fantasy-esque themed show!
We will be looking for a magical tree - a dragons cave, a giant’s cave a beautiful meadow and much much more

If you feel you’re able to and would like to help out with your artistic skills we would love to hear from you!!
We can supply paints and cardboard etc we just need your artistic talents, imagination and time!

I do love my job…!

Seeing the utter joy and fun those children have up on the stage is a feeling , as a teacher , that I could never explain.
I’ve had a love for theatre and the stage for as long as I can remember - being able to share that love and give it back through the lives of my students is just something I can’t put into words.

And then the cherry on top of the cake - to have my babies, husband and parents there to support and enjoy the show today - I sometimes have to pinch myself at just how lucky I am!
Thank you to you all for helping make this life possible!
