Happy Heavenly Birthday my darling boy.
How has it been nearly a year since you crossed the rainbow bridge? I didn't think I could live one day without you.
You sat with me in my finest moments and my darkest days but still only ever asked to been in my company.
Nearly 16 years of memories and special moments that belonged to the two of us. A lifetime for you but never long enough for me.
Now go get that tennis ball !! ❤️🐾

We are well into the Carnival season and that usually means that there are lots of glow sticks, luminous bracelets etc for sale.
While they look fun and a big hit with most children, the liquid inside can make your dog very unwell.
The liquid contains Dibutyl Phthalate or DBP. It has a bitter taste and is an irritant to skin and eyes. It can also cause the following symptoms:
⚠Pawing at the mouth
⚠Salivation
⚠Frothing at the mouth
⚠Vomiting
⚠Diarrhoea
⚠Gagging
⚠Retching
If you are worried your dog may have been in contact with DBP, contact your vet as soon as possible.

THE MOST IMPORTANT FIRST AID TOOL YOU OWN ISN'T IN YOUR FIRST AID KIT.

It's YOU!

Thankfully many dog parents/guardians and pet professionals buy canine first-aid kits, but then generally tuck it into their backpack, utility or car boot, and immediately feel safer. However, a kit without training is just a box of plastic and fabric.

If your dog cuts itself badly and has a major bleed, a roll of vet wrap won't save them. Knowing how to apply pressure to stop arterial bleeding will.

If your dog collapses on a hot summer walk, an instant ice pack won't stop organ failure. Knowing the precise, rapid cooling sequence will.

When panic strikes and your dog is looking at you for help, the contents of your dog first aid kit can't think. You have to. So, don't wait for an emergency to realise you don't know how to use the gear you've bought. Invest in the skill, not just the stuff.

Confession Time...

Have you ever searched online while worrying about your dog?
Do you know where your nearest emergency vet is?
