People often ask what I do on Mondays when I’m away from the academy.

For the past 10 months, I’ve been at completing Joico’s highest level of education — Color Excellence. 🎓

After 11 years working with the brand, invited me to attend. I’ll confess, I didn’t fully appreciate what I’d signed up for until day one, when I heard about the completion rate. That’s when it dawned on me: this was a big commitment!

I’m brilliant at starting things. Finishing them when you’re juggling businesses, family and everything else? That’s another matter. 🙈 I genuinely wondered whether I’d manage the full 10 months without something pulling me away.

Well, I did it! 💪

My knowledge of Joico, colour and what we can achieve has grown enormously. My clients are benefiting, my team are benefiting, and I’m bringing everything I’ve learnt back into the salon.

Investing in my education means investing in the standards we deliver at Transformations.

And personally? I’m rather proud that I saw this one through, from start to finish.

There are times in business when I genuinely question why I am doing this.

After another mindless act of vandalism at our property last night, this morning was certainly one of those times. With our daughter undergoing an operation today, the last thing we needed as a family was to deal with further criminal damage to our business.

However, the wonderful business owners of Chard never fail to support us. A heartfelt thank you to the lovely ladies from and for notifying us so early, and to everyone else who has called and offered their support.

We will not be driven away. We will continue working hard as a family business, bringing fabulous hair, beauty and aesthetic treatments to Chard.

Thank you to everyone who continues to stand beside us. It truly means a great deal. ❤️

Another full-on day of training, and I am absolutely loving it!

Today, I also had a very exciting conversation with about the next chapter of my business journey.

There is still plenty of hard work ahead, but exciting plans are beginning to take shape. Watch this space… ✨

Somerset Now treating myself to a well-earned glass of w**e after a quick mani-pedi. After another full-on day of training, I definitely deserve it! 🍷💅

Up at 4am. On the train by 5.10am and in Warrington by 9.30am.

Three hours of studying on the journey, followed by a full day of Level 7 practical training and another four hours of assignments afterwards… zzzzz!

I sat next to a nurse on the train who asked, “Are you studying aesthetics?”

“Yes, I have been for about 15 years,” I replied.

We had a great conversation about the industry, as she also works within an aesthetics clinic.

The learning never stops. Experience matters, but so does continuing to study, develop and raise professional standards.

Now, I think I have earned some sleep!
