It was an emotional end to the year as we said goodbye to our amazing year 6 children as well as two members of our staff team, Miss Timpson and Miss Rawcliffe 🥺 We thank them for all their hard work and contribution to school this year and we wish them both lots of luck for their future.
We would also like to wish Miss Bodey a very happy wedding day as she becomes Mrs Edwards next weekend 💒
Finally, thank you for your support during this year. We wish you all a very happy summer holiday and fingers crossed for some sunshine! ☀️☀️☀️

We had some little woolly jumpers visit year 3 today! 🐑
Miss Goodwin (one of our year 3 teachers) lives on a farm and as well as being busy with school work, she’s also had a very busy few weeks ‘lambing’! She brought 4 of her cade lambs into school for the children to hold and ask questions about them. It was a great experience and, for some children, it was their first close-up experience of lambs. What a lovely afternoon we’ve had! 🐑🤍

Good morning, what a lovely way to start the day our Easter Service! The reading, singing and prayers were beautiful and brilliantly delivered -thankyou.
Everyone here at school wishes you a Happy Easter. We hope you all enjoy some special time together over the holidays and fingers crossed the weather is kind to us all.
Thank you for all your continued support and we look forward to the Summer Term starting on Monday 15th April.
Happy Easter

As part of our Easter celebrations, the children in KS2 were asked to decorate a pebble. How fantastic are they?! Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete one 🐣

I’m sure most people on here will have heard about this but just in case you haven’t, please read the information and sign the petition. This would be a huge loss for the children of Chapel. It is used by so many children of all ages, and is a safe space for them to play.

This week a group of 32 year 6 children have visited the Le Chateau de Broutel in France. 🇫🇷
They have had the most fantastic week experiencing many different things:
🇫🇷 Visiting a French market
🇫🇷 Games on the beach
🇫🇷 Visiting a chocolate factory
🇫🇷 Visiting a farm and making butter
🇫🇷 Activities on site
🇫🇷 Visiting the Sommes museum
🇫🇷 Paying our respects at various WW1 memorials
🇫🇷 A tour of the medieval town of Rue…finished with a hot chocolate in a French café
The children have been a credit to the school and have learnt lots of new French vocabulary. It has been a brilliant week!!
Merci to all the staff at Le Chateau du Broutel….we’ll be back!

👑🇬🇧🏅The Royal British Legion and CJK Packaging have kindly donated a commemorative coronation medal for each of our pupils. We aim to distribute the medals to pupils ahead of the coronation weekend.
Here are some proud members of the school council modelling their medals 🏅
So today this happened. We visited Chapel-en-le-Frith C of E VC Primary School to present the children with a Commemorative Coronation Medal, sponsored by CJK Packaging of Chinley, owned by Chris and Kath Sizeland. Thank you to the School Council and Head Teacher Jacquie Barber for a fab photo.

Another wonderful afternoon of sports in which we took a great group of Y5 and Y6 children!

Well done to our amazing team who represented our school at the netball competition!

WBD 2023 done! 📚 We started the day with an assembly where it was lovely to see all the children (and grown ups!) looking snuggly in their pyjamas! All classes have had a day off timetable to do all things 'books'. Children have gone home saying 'it's been the best WBD ever!'
A reminder that the theme for this year's WBD is 'Sharing a bedtime story' and so we are asking pupils to come to school in their pyjamas and, if they would like, they can bring a teddy or small cushion or blanket to snuggle down with as we share stories.

We've just said our whole school 'thank you and goodbye' to Mrs Peyton who is leaving us after 23 years to start a new job supporting families across the High Peak. The card is full of messages from all the children in school ❤️

We've had another lovely session at Chapel Lodge. The children did handprints, made badges and took turns to read a story called Lovely Old Lion, which explains dementia in a very child friendly way ❤️

Year 3 have had a lovely afternoon visiting the residents at Chapel Lodge as part of an intergenerational project run by the Be Well charity in Glossop. Each child in year 3 will be visiting at least once a term to play games, do craft activities, sing songs etc. It was amazing to see the children and residents interacting with each other ❤️
Do you have any unwanted wool at home? If so, we would love to take it off your hands!!
Please drop it into school and it will be used in our new upcoming KS2 Craft club at lunchtimes. xx

Happy World Science Day 🌍🧪👩🏻🔬
We’ve loved being scientists investigating different concepts such as space, habitats, human body, weather and volcanic explosions. KS2 children also experienced a journey through space in the Wonderdome 🪐🔭

Our netball team had their first training session tonight and we had lots of amazing players!
If you missed out on a space or are thirsty for more, why not join the local High Peak Netball Club? The juniors meet each Thursday between 5-6pm for any child aged between 8 - 11 at Chapel High School.
A big thank you to the club for allowing Miss Brown to visit and give her lots of ideas to kick start our school team!
