With deep regret I announce that from 6pm this evening, 13th September 2021, after 17 years, Candystripe will close with immediate effect.

It is with a very heavy heart that I am writing this statement today.

When I opened up Candystripe 17 years ago I had no idea it would grow and change and develop in the way I wanted it to. My dream was to create a fun, inclusive, safe place to work and play. The staff I have worked with, most of which have worked for me for a long time have believed in my vision and helped me to create it. I am very proud of our achievements. However, when COVID hit times changed forever and I am afraid to the point where we cannot continue due to financial pressures.

I am working hard with my staff to support them with this shocking news and ask for your understanding so I can support them to get the redundancy pay they deserve.

I will endeavour to support you to find alternative care and am happy to provide some contact numbers to look for alternative childcare.

Please bear in mind this has not been an easy decision to make. If you would like to contact to me, please email [email protected] and I will endeavour to come back to you asap.
