Our annual Colour Run was another fantastic success! Hosted by the Acorns, the children had an amazing time racing around the course, getting covered in colour and creating lots of happy memories along the way. Most importantly, the event helped to raise valuable funds for our school.

A huge thank you to the Acorns for organising such a fun-filled event.

Year 6 have also been putting their design, chopping and measuring skills into practice by creating delicious vegetarian pizzas. After designing their own pizzas and pizza boxes, the children worked with precision to measure ingredients, prepare their toppings and assemble their creations. They showed great creativity throughout the process, producing some fantastic pizzas and eye-catching packaging to showcase their designs.

At Fryern, we are incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful and supportive community. From accompanying school trips and listening to children read, to giving their time in countless other ways, our parent and volunteer helpers play an invaluable role in enriching school life and enabling us to provide memorable experiences throughout the year.

To show our appreciation, we were delighted to host a special afternoon tea. The Student Council carefully planned and shopped for the event, while our House Captains welcomed and served our guests with pride. It was a lovely opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who gives their time so generously. We are truly grateful for your continued support.

The children were delighted to welcome Tom and his guide dog, Toby, to school yesterday. Tom and Toby delivered a fascinating assembly about the work of Guide Dogs, one of our supported charities, and shared how the organisation provides life-changing support to people with sight loss, including Tom himself. This charity holds a special place in our school community thanks to Mrs Herrick. Through her much-loved toy sales and other fundraising efforts over the years, she, alongside the children, has helped raise thousands of pounds towards the training of future guide dogs.
A huge thank you to Tom and Toby for such an engaging and inspiring visit.

Year 5 enjoyed an exciting and educational trip to the River Itchen, courtesy of Wi******er College. During the visit, the children learned all about the unique features of chalk streams, investigated river velocity and discovered the wide variety of plants and animals that call the Itchen their home. The children were able to take part in hands-on fieldwork activities, collecting data, whilst observing the wildlife.
The visit provided a wonderful opportunity to bring their classroom learning to life, and the children represented the school brilliantly with their enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent behaviour throughout the day. A huge thank you to Wi******er College for providing such an engaging and memorable experience.

What a fantastic Sports Day! This year, we introduced a new format with a range of different events, giving every child the opportunity to showcase their skills, determination and team spirit. The children were outstanding throughout the morning, demonstrating excellent sportsmanship, enthusiasm and resilience in every event.

Congratulations to Oak House, who were our Track Champions, and to Chestnut House, who were crowned the overall Sports Day winners!

A huge thank you goes to Mrs Runcie, Miss Smith and Kevin, our sports coach, for all their hard work in organising and delivering such a successful event. We would also like to thank all of the parents, carers and family members who came along to support the children. Your encouragement and enthusiasm helped create a wonderful atmosphere.

Well done to all of our children for making it such a wonderful morning.

Yesterday, Years 1 and 2 enjoyed an exciting visit to the New Forest Wildlife Park as part of their science learning. The trip supported their work on habitats, life cycles and animal classification, giving the children the opportunity to observe a wide variety of animals and learn more about how they live and survive in different environments. Despite the weather, the children were a credit to the school, showing enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent behaviour throughout the day. We are very proud of how well they represented our school and the wonderful learning they experienced beyond the classroom.
