After a few weeks off we've been back to it this week - loved this wardrobe organisation. In the short space of 3 hours, everything was folded, hung or put away in draws - we turned the dresser around so that it was usable and everything had a place.

I created distinct areas so that items were easier to find and access. One of the biggest but simplist changes was to swap out the hangers - big wooden ones although sturdy take up so much space. We kept a few for suits and uniform but the majority were swapped to slimline velvet ones which hold clothes nicely.

Yep finally shredding accounts from 2015/2016!

Been hidden away for years - not in the way or anything but gathering dust but as I returned suitcases I thought I'd grab it, check the dates and now I have quite a few years of accounts that I no longer need to keep and a hit more space on the top of the wardrobe too.

What's hiding on the top of yours?

It can seem extream to have a specific way of folding clothes but this can be a game changer....

The key is to have a flatish surface - makes all the difference

Can AI Help You to Declutter?

I read a post recently about how AI – more specifically ChatGPT – had helped someone declutter their home.

My first thought was, *"Really?"*

Apparently it had created a step-by-step plan for tackling the space. Helpful? Absolutely. Revolutionary? Not really.

Because, if we're honest, most of us already know *how* to declutter.

It's a bit like dieting. We know we should eat more vegetables, drink more water and move our bodies a bit more. Knowing what to do isn't usually the problem... actually doing it is another story altogether.

But then I saw something that genuinely made me stop scrolling.

The person had uploaded a photo of their cluttered space and asked AI to show them what it would look like once it had been decluttered. 🤯

Why had that never occurred to me?

So naturally, I had to try it myself.

And do you know what? I found it surprisingly inspiring.

Seeing a realistic version of my own space—clear, calm and clutter-free—gave me that little spark of, *"Yes... THAT'S what I want."*

It wasn't a picture-perfect showroom. It was simply my room, just without all the visual noise.

It suddenly felt achievable.

Now, admittedly, this was only a small corner of a room. But that's exactly the point.

Decluttering isn't really about transforming your whole house overnight. It's about taking one small step. One drawer. One shelf. One corner.

Action creates momentum.

For those of us who struggle to visualise what a space could become, or who need a big juicy carrot dangling in front of us to stay motivated, this could be a brilliant little tool.

Will AI sort through your paperwork? No.

Will it decide which sentimental items to keep? Definitely not.

Will it physically roll its sleeves up and help you clear the spare room?

Sadly... no. *(That's where we come in 😉)*

But what AI *can* do is help you imagine what's possible. Sometimes that's exactly the motivation we need to get started.

And if you're anything like me, once you've discovered this feature you'll disappear down a complete rabbit hole.

I've asked it to redesign rooms, suggest storage layouts, and even recommend new hairstyles!

So, here's a little challenge...

Pop a photo of one cluttered corner of your home into ChatGPT and ask it to show you what it could look like once it's been decluttered. I'd love to see the results, so feel free to share your before and AI after images in the comments.

Who knows... that one image might just be the nudge you need to get started.

Oh... and one final confession.

Did I just spew all of my thoughts, half-finished ideas and general ramblings into ChatGPT and ask it to turn them into something that actually made sense for you lovely readers?

Indeed I did.

Because that's the thing about AI. It doesn't replace us—it simply helps us get from the ideas in our heads to something we can actually use.

And for that, I'm here for it.

DON'T DO IT!

Don't get sucked in....

Whatever will they think up next that we need in our lives! More tat that will end up in the supermarket sale in approx 6 weeks time & later being sold for 20p at a car boot sale probably a year down the line after clogging up our house in between!

Just don't

Well it's been a busy week at Clutter Free Me

Fiona has been sorting out shed and garages ahead of the change in weather as well as resetting Airbnbs aheas of the bank holiday weekend - which is due to be scorchio sunny☀️

I've packed away winter clothes (decluttering while I go obviously) and had the privilege of working with this wonderful human - a budding professional organiser in the making - here she is explaining for us all, how to fold anything with hood!

Give it a try

🧣 10 Minute Declutter Challenge — Winter Hats, Scarves & Gloves 🧤

Now that the weather is finally turning, many of us will be thinking about packing away the winter clothes… and honestly, this is one of the BEST times to declutter at the same time.

Why store things for another year that you didn’t even use this winter… or maybe even the year before?

Before you pack everything away, gather all your winter woollies together:
• Hats
• Scarves
• Gloves
• Snoods
• Ear warmers

Then ask yourself:
✨ Did I actually wear this?
✨ Does it still suit my style?
✨ Is it comfortable?
✨ Does it still smell fresh after being stored?

We all know that musty “been in storage too long” smell some winter items end up with. If it needs freshening up — wash it before storing. But if you avoided wearing it all winter anyway… maybe it’s time to let it go.

And let’s be honest for a second… do we really need a new hat, scarf or pair of gloves every winter? We’re not talking specialist ski gear or outdoor workwear here — just everyday winter woollies.

If it went with an outfit you no longer wear, let it go.
If it’s scratchy, uncomfortable or never gets chosen, let it go.
If you forgot you even owned it until today… let it go.

Keep in the forefront of your mind that the goal is to reclaim your space — not simply find new ways to store more things.

Pack away only the pieces you genuinely love, wear and feel good in, and next winter you’ll thank yourself when everything is neat, easy to find and clutter free ✨
