🌿 Help Us Build a Woodland School at Chagford Primary 🌿

We’re thrilled to be working with Chagford Primary School to create a woodland learning space where every child can connect with nature, explore, and thrive outdoors whatever their background.

Many don’t realise there’s a beautiful woodland right behind the school, perfect for outdoor learning. With support from the local community, Chagford Parish Council, Chagford Community Trust, and generous donors, the PTFA has already made a fantastic start, preparing the site and installing a shed.

Thanks to funds raised so far, teacher Wes has begun his Level 3 Forest School training with the The Outdoors Group School. Once qualified, he will be able to lead regular woodland sessions for pupils 🌳

♻️ At Proper Job, we are committed to reusing and repurposing materials wherever possible, and we need your help!

We are currently looking for donations of:

🔥 Fire and Cooking
Fire bricks, fire grate, wind up fire alarm, outdoor fire blanket, fire gloves, cast iron pot or Dutch oven, kettle, frying pans

🪵 Building and Materials
Wooden sleepers, timber for workbenches, trestle tables, breeze blocks, guttering, 170gsm transparent tarp

🧰 Tools and Equipment
Hand drills, drill bits, bow or folding saws, hand axe, knife sharpener, rope and paracord

💧 General Supplies
Water butt, water containers, washing up bowls, chopping boards, wire wool, metal polish, lock box, ferro rods

Let’s come together to help keep beautiful Chagford clean and tidy 💚

It’s a fantastic activity for all the family — bring the kids along and get involved!

We’ll have:
✅ Short, easy routes for those who prefer not to travel far
✅ Longer routes for those who want to cover more ground
✅ Accessible options available

All litter pickers will receive refreshments as a thank you for helping out 🥤🍪

Thank you so much to our friends at the Memory Cafe! Birch Class had a wonderful visit this week. The children performed a lively performance of 'Rock Around the Clock' and showcased their musical skills before exploring the theme of 'School Days’. This sparked rich conversations as pupils compared their own primary school experiences with those of the older visitors.
It was a heart-warming way to end the term, and truly lovely to see different generations coming together to share memories, music and smiles.
