We had a fantastic afternoon at our FunFest on Saturday despite the challenges of such wet weather! Luckily, the sun was out for most of the fair, except during the wonderful Breaking Barriers Theatre Company performances—although the rain didn’t stop them! And for our set-up and clear-down teams, who were very soggy indeed! It was great to see everyone having so much fun in their waterproofs! The children made wonderful memories that will last for years to come.
It was a true example of our school community coming together, with so many volunteers making the event possible. Our brilliant CPSA class reps, teachers, governors, parents, and volunteers all played a role. We are also hugely grateful to Mark, our caretaker, for helping us prepare, set up and clear down. Without his magic on the cables, the inflatables would have been a bit flat! Also, thanks to the office staff and Co-Heads for managing the admin and supporting us in the background. For Mr Brown for arranging the football showing and Mr Crockford for the band performance and sound system. Thanks to Lindsay and her small finance team for sorting the money on the day. We will be busy counting it all up this week and will let you know the total when we have it.
Thanks to Buzz Gym Reading for sponsoring our raffle at the bar. Congratulations to Vicki, who won a six-month membership, and Jenny, who won a bottle of champagne. Thanks to Bridges Estate Agents for sponsoring our inflatables.
An enormous heartfelt thanks goes to the Green Watch from the -Wood-Fire-Station firefighter crew, who amazed the children with their engine, uniforms, and gadgets! A few wet faces from the hose, and what large metal cutters the kids got to play with! It was a truly memorable experience. The gasps and wows when it drove onto the school playground were precious. Thanks to Colette and David for making it happen for us.
The Reception volunteers did a great job on the refreshments stand in the dining hall, out of the rain, alongside the teachers on the lollies, keeping the energy levels high. Thank you to everyone who donated such delicious treats! Y1 volunteers managed the big inflatables safely and efficiently, and the kids just loved the obstacle course and giant slide (once it was dried off!). Y2 kept you served on the BBQ (run by Crumbs Food Co ) and helped with the fun kid's games alongside Y5. Y3 volunteers were wonderful, keeping everyone watered on the library bus bar and Y4, our Pimms professionals, once again, served those to perfection. Y6 volunteers helped us patrol on security. Thank you! thank you to pixel beach for the signs and Last but not least, our talented and friendly face painters who created some beautiful designs and England flags! Thank you for working many hours to make the magic happen.
Thank you for supporting our events.
