The toddlers within our Little Explorers Room have loved having the opportunity to experience new things as they bake biscuits for them to share at tea time.

Baking with children brings so many benefits, all of which help encourage development and growth. Some of these skills include:

Encouraging language opportunities
Develops fine motor skills
Teaches patience and focus
Builds independence as they master how to use new tools and equipment

Baking also provides the perfect opportunity to build bonds and share quality time together. We cannot wait to see what else delicious dishes we create here at Kidz Catterick!

Our Rhyme of the week in Little Treasurers this week has been Tiny Turtle.

Reading and singing with babies is vital for building early language skills, building bonds with others and sparking brain growth.

Together we have explored oceans, got lost in stories about turtles and investigated various different textures and objects to support their learning and development as it evolves.

Last week our Little Treasures in the Baby Room have been busy using their senses to investigate the light boxes and some of the shiny metal objects within the room.

Sensory play is so important at this stage of development as it creates connections to build pathways to learning, boost vocabulary and helps babies to understand their actions have results within the world around them.

We love nothing more than watching our Little Treasures learn new things.

We're Going On A Bear Hunt....

Our little Explorers within the Toddler Room have been busy investigating everything bears! We've made footprints in the muddy playdough, splashed through the our sensory river and used our communication skills to retell the story using our story basket.

This week sees our Explorers continue their bear adventures.

We cannot wait to see what they get up to......

This week, our babies have been diving into the story of the Itsy Bitsy Spider! From singing the rhyme to trying out their hand at helping the spider climb the spout, we’ve had so much fun exploring together. 🌧️☀️

Government Funding Update – September 2026 📣

From September 2026, eligible working families with children aged 9 months or older (by 31st August 2026) will be able to claim up to 30 funded hours per week.

As the term comes to an end, we reflect on our Graduation celebration, marking a very special milestone for our preschool leavers as they embark on exciting new adventures.

We are incredibly proud of each and every child and celebrate all of their achievements and accomplishments throughout their time with us. It has been a privilege to be part of their journey, and we are grateful for the wonderful memories we have shared.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our parents for your thoughtful cards and kind words. Your support and appreciation mean so much to us, and we truly value the partnership we have shared throughout your child’s preschool journey.

We wish all of our preschool leavers every success and happiness as they begin their next chapter. Good luck—we know you will all do amazing things!
