💙 A Heartfelt Thank You from Team Wavell 💙

As another fantastic school year comes to an end, we would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful Wavell community for your incredible support throughout the year.

To our parents, carers, families and friends – thank you for working alongside us, cheering on our children and helping to make our school such a special place. Together, we've celebrated achievements, embraced new opportunities and created memories that will last a lifetime.

To our amazing Year 6 children, we are so proud of everything you have achieved. You have shown resilience, kindness and determination, and we know you will go on to achieve great things. We wish you every success and happiness as you begin your next exciting adventure. Good luck – you'll always be part of the Wavell family! 💙

As we say goodbye to this school year, we also look forward with excitement to the new adventures that September will bring. We can't wait to welcome everyone back, ready for another year of learning, laughter and success.

🌟 A Huge Thank You to Our Amazing School Council! 🌟

What an incredible year it has been! We are so proud of everything our School Council has achieved. From raising money for our school and for a local charity to organising exciting events like movie nights, the school disco, and visits from an artist and a scientist, they have worked tirelessly to make Wavell an even better place for everyone.

A very special thank you goes to Mrs Greig, whose dedication, enthusiasm and hard work have created so many fantastic opportunities for both our children and staff. Your passion and commitment have made a real difference to our whole school community.

Well done to every member of our School Council – you have been brilliant ambassadors for Wavell, and we couldn't be prouder! ⭐👏💙

🌞 Summer Support for Families 💛

The summer holidays can bring lots of fun, but they can also bring extra challenges for families. If you're finding things a little overwhelming, please remember that you're not alone.

We've put together a helpful guide with trusted organisations offering advice and support for parenting, children's mental health, family wellbeing and where to get urgent help if it's needed.

Please take a look, save it for later, or share it with someone who may find it useful. Sometimes knowing where to turn is the first step.

☀️ Hot Weather Update – Wednesday & Thursday ☀️

📸 School photographs are taking place tomorrow, so we would be grateful if children could wear navy or black shorts and a plain white T-shirt to help them look smart for their photos.

‼️Please also ensure your child brings their school jumper in their bag, as this may be needed for photographs and for cooler indoor areas.

☀️🌡️ HEATWAVE ALERT 🌡️☀️

Due to the forecast of very hot weather, we will be making some temporary adaptations to help keep our children safe, comfortable and ready to learn.

📅 Tuesday 23rd June – Thursday 25th June

To support your child during the heatwave:

👕 Children may wear their PE kit to school (navy or black shorts and a plain white t-shirt only).

🧴 Please ensure your child has sun cream applied before coming to school.

🧢 Children must bring a sun hat.

💧 Children must bring a named water bottle so they can stay hydrated throughout the day.

We will continue to provide regular water breaks, encourage children to stay in shaded areas where possible and adapt activities to suit the weather conditions.
