Donning lab coats and safety goggles, Year 4 pupils headed to the senior science labs at Caterham School for a "Fizzy Chemistry" morning. They carefully measured, mixed and recorded their results like true chemists, investigating chemical reactions between acids and bicarbonate of soda and learning all about the science behind the fizz. Huge thanks to the senior school Chemistry team for a brilliant morning!

Huge thank you to Surrey Fire and Rescue Service Godstone for visiting our Reception classes as part of our learning about people who help us in the community!

The children loved exploring the fire engine, learning about the important role firefighters play in keeping us safe, and asking lots of fantastic questions. They even took a turn on the hoses pretending to put a fire out! It was wonderful to see the children making connections and developing a deeper understanding of the world around them.

It was an unforgettable evening at Leatherhead Theatre last week, as pupils from across the Caterham Family of Schools came together for Music for the Stage and Screen. It was a fantastic showcase of incredible talent, unity, and energy. From a powerful massed choir opening with Circle of Life to standout performances from each school, the first half was filled with inspiring vocals and memorable solos.

The second half highlighted instrumental excellence, with vibrant performances from the Swing Band, Lower School Orchestra, and a spectacular finale from the Symphony and Film Orchestras featuring iconic film scores.

A true celebration of music, community, and aspiration. It was certainly an evening to remember for all involved.

As part of our topic, 'People who help us' PC Wood and PC Seddik from Surrey Police came in to speak to Reception. The children learnt all about a police officer’s equipment and tried on some uniform. They even got to sit in the police car and loved the blue lights and the siren. Thanks for visiting! 👮‍♂️

There was plenty of excitement as we welcomed Sublime Science for a science show to remember. Every year group, from Reception to Year 6, was completely absorbed and we were thrilled to be joined by family from Copthorne Prep School The Hawthorns School as well as friends from Hillcroft and St John's.

With bangs, flames, bubbles, colour-changing reactions and even the odd bit of flying toilet roll, the theatre was full of laughter, surprise and genuine wonder. One of the highlights was seeing the Bernoulli effect in action, as balls of all sizes – from a table tennis ball to a giant beach ball – floated and moved through the air above the children’s heads. It was a brilliant, memorable way of bringing big scientific ideas to life. Older pupils were equally engaged, watching liquids seemingly “magically” change colour as they explored acids and alkalis, reinforcing what they’ve been learning in class.

It was one of those moments where learning really sticks – hands-on, exciting and shared together. A huge thank you to Dynamite Dave and the Sublime Science team for such an inspiring visit.

We were delighted to host our very first Parent and Child Art Workshop! It was wonderful to welcome so many families into school to share a creative experience together. Led by Mrs Bell, Head of Art, they explored a range of watercolour techniques before working collaboratively to create beautiful paintings of our learning power animals.

The evening provided a fantastic opportunity for parents and their children to spend quality time together, share ideas while learning new skills! It was lovely to see such pride in their artwork. Thank you to everyone who joined us—we can’t wait to do it again!
