I’ve spoken about parts of my menopause journey before, but I don’t think I’ve ever put the whole story in one place.
For years, I knew something wasn’t right. I also knew my family history.
But every appointment ended with another explanation… stress, mum life, getting older, “normal” blood tests.
So I kept leaving and trying harder.
Eventually, I had nothing left to try harder with.
HRT hasn’t made every day perfect, and the last three years have included plenty of changes. But being listened to by that doctor in January 2023 changed everything.
Not because everything was immediately fixed, but because for once, I didn’t have to convince someone that what I was feeling was real.
I’m sharing this because I know how easy it is to look fine and keep smiling while privately wondering what the f**k is happening to you.
If that’s where you are, please don’t keep assuming you’re the problem.
And if you want to talk, my DMs are open.

Also, what time are we leaving? And what time will I be home?
And please don’t change the venue on the day I’m already mentally prepared for the first one.
🙈😜🤣

Sometimes the best coaching decision is to change absolutely nothing.
My client came home from holiday, stepped on the scales and worried because she was 2kg heavier.
But one post-holiday weigh-in cannot tell us that she has gained 2kg of body fat.
Travel, more carbohydrates and sodium, food volume, hydration, digestion, disrupted sleep and changes to routine can all temporarily affect scale weight.
Could some genuine weight gain have happened? Of course.
But we weren’t going to make that decision from one number.
So we haven’t slashed her calories, skipped meals or add hours of cardio.
She returned to her usual meals, hydration, movement and training, then gave her body time to settle.
And 1kg has already come back off.
This is the next controllable moment in action.
No drama. No punishment. Just return to the basic structure and let the trend tell us what is actually happening.
Save this for your next post-holiday weigh-in, or send it to the friend who always panics after stepping on the scales.

Most women I speak to already know the basics.
They know protein matters. They know movement matters. They know one meal out hasn’t ruined everything.
The difficulty is knowing what to do when the day doesn’t follow the plan.
One bigger meal turns into an entire weekend.
One missed workout turns into, “I’ll start again next week.”
One higher weigh-in makes you want to change a plan that may have been working perfectly well.
Over the last few days, I’ve shared two examples of this.
One of my clients lost around 11 kilos while still enjoying concerts, trips, drinks and meals out.
I had five meals out across three days, controlled the things I could control and finished Week One 800g, or 1.8lb, down.
Neither result came from getting everything right.
It came from having a basic structure to return to at the next controllable moment.
Your next meal. Your next walk. Your next workout. Your next glass of water.
That is what consistency actually looks like.
Save this for the next time one moment threatens to become the rest of your week.
And if you’re a woman over 40 who knows what to do but needs help turning it into something you can consistently follow, DM me READY and I’ll explain how my coaching works.

One of the best compliments I’ve ever received from a client?
“You’re normal.”
And honestly… I’ll take it.
Because normal is exactly what her journey has looked like.
Concerts, trips away, drinks, meals out and plenty of socialising weren’t removed to make weight loss possible.
She enjoyed them.
Then, at the next moment she could control, she returned to her usual structure.
She planned her food, hit her protein target, got her steps done, kept strength training, returned to running and asked for help when she needed it.
There was no magic formula and no extreme plan.
Just the basics, done consistently enough to lose 11kg while becoming healthier, stronger and happier in herself.
This is what I want coaching to give you.
An approach that works around busy-mum life, kids, work and menopause, rather than expecting everything else to stop.
If you’re ready to lose weight, feel stronger and get your confidence back without putting your life on hold, I have spaces available in my coaching team.
Send me “REAL” and I’ll send you the details.

Please tell me I’m not the only one 🤣
