Thermal Chasers July 2026 - Day 4 🇮🇹☀️

Another incredible day in Bassano, with conditions flyable from morning through to evening.

Today’s key lesson was understanding when to fly and where to fly for your current skill level. Knowing how to choose the right conditions is just as important as developing your flying technique.

Once again, the local pilots climbed to incredible heights and completed huge cross-country flights, giving everyone plenty of inspiration for what’s possible with experience and the right decisions.

Every day is another step forward. 🪂🔥

🔥 THERMAL CHASERS - DAY 3 🔥

What an epic day of flying! 🪂⛰️

Today we headed to a new take-off site at Panettone, Cima Grappa, launching from around 4,500ft with incredible conditions ahead.

🚀 Local pilots climbed to an unbelievable 10,000ft
🌍 100km XC flights were easily achievable
☀️ Big thermic conditions and huge learning opportunities

But one of the biggest lessons today wasn’t just about flying - it was about knowing when not to fly.

For our developing pilots, today was a brilliant opportunity to understand when thermic conditions are simply too strong, having the patience to wait, assess the sky and choose the right moment to launch safely. That judgement is a huge part of becoming a stronger, more confident pilot.

An incredible day packed with progression, patience and some seriously epic flying! 💪🪂

Now it’s time to rest, recharge and get ready for Day 4… 🔥

Thermal Chasers - Day 5 | Italy | July 2026 🇮🇹🪂

A fantastic final flying day in Bassano!

🏔️ We’ve now reached an incredible milestone of 525 days on the mountains, with 508 days flown.

Another day of progress saw more pilots smashing their personal bests, building confidence, refining their thermal technique and taking another big step forward in their flying journey.

A huge congratulations to everyone who joined us this week. The commitment, progression and atmosphere have been incredible from start to finish.

Thermal Chasers - July 2026 | Day 2 🪂☀️

Another incredible day in the skies, with our pilots continuing to exceed expectations and achieve impressive personal bests.

Today’s highlights:
🪂 Greater height gains
🪂 Longer airtime
🪂 Increased flight durations
🪂 Significant improvements in thermal flying technique
🪂 Growing confidence flying in busy thermals alongside multiple pilots

It’s been fantastic to watch everyone’s progress, with each flight building skill, confidence, and experience.

🇮🇹 Day 1 - Bassano Italy 🪂

A fantastic start to our Bassano trip!

We arrived just as a cold front was passing through, but managed to make the most of the conditions and get everyone airborne before it arrived. It was the perfect orientation flight, giving everyone the chance to settle in, test the radios and get familiar with the local flying area.

All of our pilots landed safely, checked in via WhatsApp, and were collected for the retrieve. Now it’s time to relax together over a well-earned meal and a few drinks before another exciting day of flying tomorrow.
