One of the loveliest picture books for children recently published. What it’s like to be a child who discovers he is deaf. Radio 4 are discussing it in relation to kindness. I hope they mention understanding and people’s perception of deafness as well.

One step closer….now we need to promote and encourage inclusion on the national curriculum. Having to pay for BSL lessons privately is costly but often the only way people can access learning.

We spoke to BBC Breakfast this morning to discuss the impact the BSL Bill would have on deaf communities across the UK. The BSL Bill is just the start of deaf people getting the same access to information, along with better deaf awareness and education.
"If we came together as a society to provide a fully accessible environment for deaf people, I promise we will see more [deaf people] in different fields."

My youngest son just asked, “ Can deaf people hear music?”. I smiled and replied, “Is this a question about how they hear or is it about appreciating music?” They are two different questions!
Let’s embrace difference and not disability
