𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 👋 ⁣

This week I’ve decided to call it a day coaching.⁣

Over the past few months I’ve found myself pulling away from it...⁣

I will always love it & the impact it has on people, but if I didn’t act on this then it would have a negative knock on effect on the coaching. ⁣

So it’s my last week, I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone I’ve worked with, I’ve met some great people along the way ⁣

And to everyone to who’s read, liked, commented or shared my content I hope my work & content has left a lasting impact on how you think about moving, eating & everything else in between 🤙🏻⁣

I never thought I’d do anything else, this was the first job I was truly happy in, it s opened so many doors and linked me up some epic people !⁣

But it’s onwards & upwards - literally! I’m heading UP the mountains build paths 😂⁣

When I started tree planted that’s when I first felt the pull, I never thought that would be the way I’d get to do what I’m about too. ⁣

It’s already been so freeing as once I made the decision I stopped caring about content. I haven’t posted since Friday and I loved that!⁣

I have a few community projects in the pipeline so I won’t be unplugging from the social media matrix just yet. ⁣

Anyway, wannabe influencer announcement over!⁣

Thanks again to everyone for their support along the way.⁣

Health & fitness will always be a passion of mine and as such my inbox will always be open for advice...⁣

But for now, keep an eye on the mountains for this curly headed fu**er 😂⁣

𝐆𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐲𝐦 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 ⁣

Not that training is by any means an easy feat, nor is taking the first steps into a packed gym...⁣

But we spend less time in the gym a day than we do on our food. ⁣

If you train 45mins - 1hr there’s still the rest of the day manage what you eat. ⁣

And it can be hard. Especially at this time of year when there’s so much more Xmas food and events on.⁣

And like i said it can be hard.⁣

It takes time to change your food & eating habits - even more so if you’re not used to a diet high in unprocessed foods.⁣

But Just because it takes time to create new habits, doesn’t mean you’re going to take longer to get where you want.⁣

It’s better to take your time & do it right....⁣

I’m sure the amount of times you’ve just cut everything out at once, only to go back to the way you used to eat after it didn't work proves that.⁣

❌ Being restrictive doesn’t work⁣

❌ Cutting out everything you enjoy doesn’t work ⁣

✅ Taking your time to build new eating habits does work!⁣

Change is a marathon, not a sprint.⁣

2 Mondays left of 2021...⁣

Do your best today & do your best to repeat tomorrow ✌🏼😁

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 😱! 𝗪𝐡𝐨 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝?⁣
⁣
I actually find myself going back to this pic every so often, because how true is this?⁣
⁣
Our bodies are 1 of the most efficiently designed machine's on the planet & unfortunately as our society has become more "advanced"...⁣
⁣
It's fair to say we've got weaker.⁣
⁣
It's now common for people to be out of puff going up the stairs, spending more time at a screen than moving & looking forward to getting home to sit in front of another screen (tv).⁣
⁣
Sedentary lifestyles are destroying us, they're not what our bodies were designed for, our bodies(& minds) thrive on physical challenges.⁣
⁣
If I was die today - I'd be happy to know that I pushed myself to climb a mountain, I challenged myself to become physically stronger, that I can run & swim in ball freeing water....⁣
⁣
That I'm testing what I'm capable off...⁣
⁣
Because after all the drinking, partying, lying in front of the TV over the years - that's what's been truly fulfilling!⁣
⁣
I've been unfit, unhealthy, weak & tired all the time & I'm glad in a sense because it makes everything I can do today a lot more satisfying & worth it!⁣
⁣
Push your body, because like it says, none of us have a right to be amateurs in physical training!⁣
⁣
Your body deserves more than sitting at the high stool all weekend...⁣
⁣
How about a high mountain instead??⁣
⁣
Go and see what you're capable of - You won't regret it!

Have an active weekend 😁

𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐚 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 🤣⁣

It's insane how something so initially brutal can make you feel absolutely brilliant!⁣

The water was insanely strong...⁣

It was harder to get my breath...⁣

There was a few short breathed "Oh f**k's"⁣

It was cold...⁣

But with all that, it was temporary.⁣

I only stayed in for 5 minutes...⁣

And the Oh f**k stage only lasted about 1!⁣

It's when that passes you forget about that stage & your body takes over...⁣

And you feel absolutely brilliant.⁣

Those few minutes have such a huge impact on the rest of my day. The after feeling is unbelievable. ⁣

All from temporary discomfort.⁣

Put yourself in uncomfortable situations more because I've yet to come out of the water feeling worse than when I went in.⁣

And it only cost me 5 minutes 🤷‍♂️⁣

P.S You know it was a good one when the skin is sensitive to the towel after 🤣⁣

Cheers Barra 🤜🤛

𝐄𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐗𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 ⁣⁣⁣𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐅𝐁 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩

I’ve shared these steps with my clients last week and I know a lot of people reading this will benefit from these also....

⁣⁣⁣
Apart from Xmas day and dinner, for some this can be the highlight of this time of year.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
So we want to enjoy it as much as possible while staying sharp. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
We all know how bad we can feel if we just let it all go. We go back to feeling tired, heavy , sluggish & bloated ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
So heres how we enjoy silly season while staying sharp!⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
🍔 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 - When it comes to eating/ drinking we need to manage our calories. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
To do this you can eat smaller meals on the day OR if it’s a big weekend / meal / session etc start a day or two beforehand. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
👣 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 - For a couple of reasons.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Activity is important when it comes to events having little impact on how we feel and our waistline....⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Some have already lowered their movement expectations so you could (if you’ve lowered them) train on the days you’re heading out⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Otherwise keep the steps up and active.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Especially the day after - NOT to punish yourself simply to move and feel better. ⁣⁣⁣This will always help!
⁣⁣⁣
🍺 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 & 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 - if you want to be extra conscious (this isn’t me telling you to btw) you could opt for the less oily meals when you eat or ask them to use little as possible ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Oil can add up to 500 cals to a meal - that’s before you’ve even got the food. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
And you can opt for lower calorie drinks too. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
But if that worries you I’d simply add another day of calorie management. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
🕺🏻💃🏻 𝐁𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 - When you do go out or whatever is on ENJOY IT. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Don’t be thinking about what you have to do to make up for it or be guilty in the back of your mind ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Enjoy what’s happening, socialise and connect. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
If you’re consistent with everything you need to do then you deserve to enjoy yourself. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
There is nothing here we haven’t covered in our group before & I wanted to reaffirm the things we need to do so we can have fun and enjoy Xmas. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
You don’t need to throw the head up or be strict either - you just need to be consistent where it counts

There’s no reason you can’t enjoy yourself while staying sharp⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
I told them that these steps will ensure you’ve less work to do come January and these steps will carry you along way long after Xmas is done.
⁣⁣⁣
I hope this helps!🤙🏻

What’s everyone looking forward to the most this month?

𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝...⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We're about to hit December - a mental month.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Between Xmas shopping, Xmas Parties & the big push to get off work, December can be a tough time.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It can put a lot of pressure on people.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And as such is the reason a lot of people lose track & their progress can go backwards.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
But today I let my clients know exactly how we are going to continue to succeed even with the extra demand we feel on us.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Every week our group topics are changing to be all about how we can keep a relatively good structure with the gym, our food & with all the extra eating out & drinking.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Structure & action steps are what's going to ensure we can avoid any anxiety over this time of year.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Because here's the thing, we work hard on ourselves all year, so it can be easy to panic & think that xmas shopping, parties, extra work & even the darker evenings are all going to mess up your efforts & routine.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The thing is, for a lot of us they will, but that's normal.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I'm not going to let that effect how my clients succeed.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We'll simply change our approach & expectations.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And I encourage each of you to do the same.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Take a step back - do what you can, when you can & accept that that's perfectly ok!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Don't make the mistake of getting caught up in the madness & throwing the head up.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It's ok if you have to do less...⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Doing something is always better than doing nothing!⁣⁣

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 > 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞⁣⁣
⁣⁣
People move their bodies in many different ways, for many different reasons...⁣⁣
⁣⁣
But there's a difference between Exercising & Training.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If you, let's say, go to the gym just to work up a sweat & go home -that's exercising.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If you just cycling or run for the fun of it - that's exercise.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If you're content with your body, ability & performance, then exercise is for you.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Whereas Training is about improvement.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Gym work isn't just about getting sweaty, it's about building strength/ fitness etc.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
You run/cycle or whatever it may be, to improve you fitness & cardiovascular health, or to improve a certain pace or distance.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If you're not content with your physical shape & you want to improve how look - you Train to do so.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If you want to improve how you move & achieve new things with your body - you train to do so.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Strength is learned & achieved over repetition...⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Fitness is learned & achieved over repetition...⁣⁣
⁣⁣
A more mobile body comes from learning & repetition...⁣⁣
⁣⁣
A healthy body is earned, It's practised, it's repeated & it's constantly challenged!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Both move the body, so you're not wrong for either...⁣⁣
⁣⁣
But that's the difference between 𝘌𝘹𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 & 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Comment below , do you Exercise or do you Train??⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And what else would you add to either list?⁣⁣
