♥️ What a wonderful first day back! ♥️

Our children have had the loveliest day exploring their new classrooms, settling into new routines, making new friends and telling their teachers what an amazing summer they have all had!

We are so proud of how amazingly everyone has done — our teachers have been blown away! 🌟

You can also use SchoolGateway to:

Order milk for the half term if your child is over the age of 5.
Place any uniform orders you may require.

🔴 Wednesday 2nd September – School reopens! Breakfast Club will be available from 7.30am.

Club bookings will go live on Tuesday 1st September, ready for you to book your child’s places.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff and governors for their unwavering commitment and support throughout the year. Your hard work and dedication continue to make our school a wonderful place for children to learn and thrive.

Most importantly, thank you to our fantastic pupils. Your curiosity, kindness and enthusiasm are at the heart of everything we do and make Wheldon such a special place to learn.

We hope you all enjoy a safe, restful and well-deserved summer break. Thank you once again for your continued support throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September for another exciting year together.

To our wonderful Year 2 pupils, we wish you every success and happiness as you begin your new journey. We are incredibly proud of all you have achieved and know you will continue to shine in your new schools.

Today was our final assembly of the term, and we had so much to celebrate! It was a wonderful opportunity to recognise our pupils' hard work, achievements, and successes from across the year.
Well done to everyone who was celebrated—we are incredibly proud of you all! 🏆

✨ Year 2 Leavers ✨

Today we held our Year 2 Leavers’ Assembly, a wonderful celebration of the incredible journey we have shared with our amazing Year 2 pupils.

It was a pleasure to welcome parents and carers into school to celebrate this special milestone with us. Our Year 2 children were simply fantastic, confidently singing some of their favourite songs, sharing their favourite memories from their time at Wheldon and showcasing their amazing talents in our very own episode of ‘Castleford’s Got Talent’. We couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of them – they truly shone from start to finish.

A huge thank you to all of the parents and carers who joined us today. Your support throughout your child’s time at Wheldon has meant so much, and we are grateful that you could share this special occasion with us.

The celebrations continue tomorrow as we look forward to our Year 2 Leavers’ Party, starting straight after school at 3:30pm. We can’t wait to spend the afternoon together, making even more wonderful memories as we dance, laugh and celebrate everything our Year 2 pupils have achieved before they begin their exciting new adventures.

It has been a privilege to be part of their remarkable journey, and although we’ll be sad to say goodbye, we know they are ready to spread their wings and shine in the next chapter of their education.

We hope you all have the most amazing time tomorrow – let’s make it a party to remember!

☀️ Our Summer Fayre is almost here! ☀️

We can’t wait to welcome everyone to our Summer Fayre this Thursday, 16th July, from 1.30pm–3.30pm for an afternoon packed with fun, games and fantastic prizes!

There’ll be something for everyone, including a bouncy castle, Forest School activities, tombola, raffle, sweet treats, glitter, bracelets, Drench the Teacher, and so much more!

💦 Have you guessed who our mystery “Drench the Teacher” volunteer will be yet? Keep those guesses coming – you’ll find out on the day!

🚓 We are also delighted to confirm that West Yorkshire Police will be joining us at the fayre, so make sure you pop over and say hello!

We can’t wait to see our children, families and the local community for what promises to be a fantastic afternoon.

This afternoon, we were delighted to welcome our new Reception pupils into school for a transition session with their new teachers.

We had a fantastic afternoon getting to know one another, exploring our new classrooms and beginning some exciting new friendships. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and such enthusiasm for starting school.

We can’t wait to welcome you all back in September for the start of your exciting journey with us!
