⚠️ If you're only as good as your weak side, how much time do you spend working on it? 😳

Something to think about.

Improving the weak hand is something zI have my students working on quite early as I know from
💥EXPERIENCE💥 the difference it makes.

My fills and overall playing behind the kit MASSIVELY levelled up when i started isolating it and actively improving it.

🥁 Even try adding in just 5mins of isolated practice with your weak hand every day...

And try playing simple beats and songs with your left hand on the hihat.

So many people doubt themselves, worry about what other people might think...

Or think they're too old to start learning drums or get back into it.

Kim here is a great example of someone who loves music and started learning later in life.

She is a self-employed woman, married with grown up kids but makes the time to practice DAILY.

✅️ Her dedication and desire to learn and practice consistently and it's paying off already.

🤘 After a year of learning she has more solid timing than a lot of gigging drummers i've seen throughout the years...

Most importantly she loves the challenge of drumming and ENJOYS IT!👌

And I've no doubt she's going to keep getting better and better!

Does Northern Ireland not need more good Rock and Metal drummers?

Well I'm working on it!

💥 My aim is to be the drum teacher & coach I wish I had when I was learning to drum.

It can be down by yourself, but it takes a long time.

If I had've had an experienced rock and metal drummer like 'me now' to guide me...

I genuinely believed I'd have learnt in 5 years what took me 15 to learn by myself!

If you really want to get better 💥YOU💥 need to put the work in.

Consistently.

Week after week.

Month after month.

Year after year.

There's no magic pill.

Drum lessons with an experienced drummer can speed up the process and help you avoid developing bad habits that you'll have to unlearn.

But really its all down to YOU and how much you are willing to practice.

The more you practice, the more value you'll get from lessons.

And the more 👌EFFECTIVELY👌 you practice the better you'll get.

Over time.

Watch videos to get inspired and learn ABOUT drumming.

But 🔥DOING🔥 it is what matters most.

Focus, practice as much as you can and don't give up.

You're potential is UNLIMITED 🙂

Paul's on a fu**in' Highway To Hell and loving it!

He's also learning some Alice In Chains, Metallica and working on the basics CONSISTENTLY👌

Timing, quality single-stroke rolls and improving the weak hand.

Be patient, keep practicing and it WILL pay off‼️

It worked for me and I've seen it work for many students of mine over the years.

Nothing helped me raise my standard of drumming to a more PRO LEVEL than...

Taking a step back and going over the basics.

🥁 REALLY working on my timing and practicing to a metronome (CLICK)

🥁 PADWORK - working hard to master playing really even and smooth Single Stroke Rolls

🥁 Slowing and breaking down every beat and fill and paying REAL attention to detail

🥁 Working on RELAXING and playing with more FLOW and not forcing things (but still playing with intensity)

I focus on helping all my students avoid the mistakes I made and helping them learn faster and progress more than i did from the start.

💥 I honestly believe if I hadve went to a good drummer teacher or knew what I know NOW...

I would've learnt in 5 years what took me 15 years‼️

Anna from Belfast here had taken lessons with someone else and played drums previously.

🥁 She wanted to get back into it and level up so she could join a band and play with other musicians.

She put in the work and was willing to go back and work on the basics (which most drummers don't want to do) and it paid off‼️

Her timing and overall playing improved A LOT in a short space of time and she said it was the fastest she's ever made progress.

😄 Always loved to see people make progress and get better and the hard work pay off

My aim has been to be the drum teacher and coach that I wish I had.

If I had 'ME NOW' as my drum coach with all the knowledge and experience I have, I genuinely believe I could've learnt in 5 years what took me 15 years‼️

Or learnt in 1 year what took me 5 years figuring it out by myself.

You get the picture.

If you're driven and determined of course you can learn by yourself but it will take you a lot longer than learning from someone experienced.
