🏰 A major milestone for Carrickfergus!
Planning applications have now been submitted for the £42.2 million Carrickfergus Regeneration Project – a transformative investment that aims to revitalise the town while celebrating its rich heritage.
The ambitious plans include:
✨ A brand-new visitor centre overlooking Carrickfergus Castle and Belfast Lough
🌿 Improved public spaces, waterfront areas and heritage trails
🎭 Enhanced arts, cultural and community facilities at the Town Hall, Museum and Civic Centre
♿ Better accessibility, including new visitor facilities and improved access to Carrickfergus Castle
🚶 Stronger connections between the Castle, harbour, town centre and waterfront
Supported by £26.4 million from the Belfast Region City Deal, the project is designed to boost tourism, support local businesses, improve accessibility and create vibrant spaces for residents and visitors alike.
Following extensive public consultation, the proposals have been shaped by community feedback and now move into the planning process.
