❤️💙 **So… what does the PA actually do?**

Probably more than you think!

Behind the events, raffles and fundraising is a group of parents working together to support our school, help provide those little extras for our pupils and build an even stronger school community.

But here’s the important bit…

**You don’t have to join the committee to get involved.**

🙋 Help at one event
🎟️ Sell a few raffle tickets
💡 Bring us an idea
🤝 Share a skill
⏰ Give us an hour when you have one

It all counts.

We know everyone has busy lives, and being part of the PA doesn’t have to mean committing to everything. A little bit of time from lots of people can make a very big difference.

👋 **New school year. New faces. New ideas.**

As we get ready for another year at Carrickfergus Grammar School, we’d love to welcome more parents and carers to get involved with our Parents’ Association. ❤️💙

Whether you’d like to become an active member, volunteer when you can, bring some fresh ideas or simply find out a little more about what we do, **come along and meet us!**

We’re also currently looking for a **Secretary** and someone who would enjoy helping us **manage our social media** 📱

There’s no expectation that joining means taking on everything. Sometimes an hour of your time, helping at one event or simply bringing a good idea can make a real difference.

A huge congratulations to all our students receiving their GCSE results today! 🎉⭐

After all the hard work, revision, early mornings, late nights and probably a few stressful moments along the way… today is yours. Be proud of everything you’ve achieved. 🤍

Whatever comes next, whether that’s returning to CGS for Sixth Form, heading to college, beginning an apprenticeship or taking a completely different path, this is just the start of an exciting new chapter.

And of course, a big thank you to the parents, carers, teachers and staff who have encouraged, supported and occasionally nagged them through it all! 😄

Whether you’re heading off to university, starting an apprenticeship, taking a gap year or still figuring out your next steps, remember there are no limits to what you can achieve. 💪

A fantastic way to round off the school year!

PA Chair Rachel Andrews-Moore and Treasurer Victoria Simms were delighted to present a cheque for £2,500 to Principal James Maxwell, representing funds raised through the Parents' Association events held throughout the year.

We are pleased to share that the funds will be used to purchase 3D printers for the Technology Department, with the remaining contribution helping to support the refurbishment of a new Music Technology Room, including updated computer equipment for pupils.

A heartfelt thank you to every parent, pupil, staff member, volunteer and local business that supported our events throughout the year. Whether you donated prizes, sponsored activities, attended events, gave your time, or simply showed your support, every contribution helped make this possible.

These projects are a wonderful example of what can be achieved when our school community works together to enhance opportunities and resources for our young people.

Thank you for helping us make a real and lasting difference.

What a year it's been!

As another school year comes to an end, we'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported the Parents' Association. Whether you volunteered your time, attended an event, donated a prize, bought a raffle ticket or simply shared our posts, you've helped make this year a huge success.

Our final newsletter reflects on some wonderful memories and the incredible community spirit that makes our school so special.

Thank you for being part of it, and here's to another successful year ahead.

What an absolutely fantastic day we had yesterday.

Thank you to everyone who came along to enjoy it. The sun showed up for us, and it really felt like the whole community came together… which is exactly what it’s all about.

We hope you enjoyed it just as much as we did.

A special thank you to the students who gave up their Saturday to help with face painting and foot darts. You were brilliant, and we hope you had a great time being part of it.

Thank you as well to everyone who supported us in the Grab a Grand scheme with — we really appreciate it.

And of course, a big thank you to all of our event sponsors:

We were also delighted to welcome Cheryl Brownlee MLA, John Stewart MLA, Gordon Lyons MLA, Cllr Peter Johnston and Cllr Anna Henry, who took the time to come along and show their support. A sincere thank you as well to the Mayor’s Office for their kind donation towards our fundraising.

And finally… a heartfelt thank you to our entire PA team. The Spring Fair is just one part of a much bigger year of effort, planning, and showing up again and again. As we begin to wind things down and close out this fundraising year, it feels important to recognise the time, energy and care that has gone into everything behind the scenes. It doesn’t go unnoticed.
