Did you know you may be able to complete the IPAF theory test in a different language?🌍

We can accommodate a range of languages, including Polish and Russian, helping delegates understand the theory clearly and complete the written element with greater confidence.

It’s important to note that the practical training and assessment are delivered in English, so delegates still need to be able to understand the instructor’s guidance and communicate safely throughout the practical session.

If English isn’t your first language, speak to us before booking and we can confirm which language options are available.

Chris’s biggest piece of advice for your IPAF practical? Slow down and do your observations. 👀

There’s no prize for completing the assessment quickly, and there’s no time limit. Before moving the machine, take a moment to check your surroundings, look in the direction of travel and make sure your route is clear.

Even clipping a cone can count against you, so rushing usually creates more problems than it solves.

🕹️ Get familiar with the controls
👀 Complete your observations before every movement
🚧 Keep a safe distance from obstacles
⏱️ Take your time

The instructors aren’t looking for speed. They’re looking for safe, controlled operation and good awareness throughout the assessment.

“Will I be alright if I’m not great with heights?” 👀

IPAF training isn’t about pushing people beyond what they’re comfortable with, but you do need to be able to safely operate powered access equipment at height.

In some industries, that could mean working several metres above the ground, so if you’re uncomfortable with heights to the point where you can’t safely complete the practical assessment, this is not be the right course for you just yet.

If you’re unsure which training is right for your role, we’d much rather have that conversation before you book than on the day of the course.

It’s “only a ladder”… until something goes wrong🪜

If your job involves using portable ladders to access work at height, knowing how to select, inspect and use them correctly is just as important as any other piece of access equipment.

Our Portable Ladder Safety & Use course covers everything from choosing the right ladder for the job to carrying out pre-use checks, positioning extension and roof ladders safely, and understanding the risks before work begins.

📅 We still have a few last-minute spaces available on this Friday’s course.
📍 Carnforth, Lancashire, just 2 minutes from Junction 35 of the M6, with free parking on site.

You can check availability and book online, or get in touch with the team if you’d like to find out more.
