🌟PSHE in Year 6 🌟

Windermere Class had a fabulous afternoon of team building today. The challenge was to build the best free standing structure. Congratulations to The Jimmybobs for the best team work and structure!

👏🏼🌟School Games Mark Platinum Award 🌟👏🏼

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games Mark Platinum Award for the 2025/2026 academic year!

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

We are incredibly proud of our pupils and their dedication to all aspects of school sport. This achievement would not have been possible without the continued support and commitment of our staff, parents, volunteers and local sports partnerships, and we are hugely grateful to everyone who has played a part in making this possible for the seventh year running. 👏🏼

As we welcome our children and families back for the start of a new school year, we look forward with excitement to the many opportunities, experiences and achievements that lie ahead! 💙💛

🌟 🏏Girls Cricketing Opportunity 🏏 🌟

Over the summer we will share a wide range of different opportunities for our children in our local area.

This one run by our very own Mr Dixon is an exciting FREE opportunity for the girls in our school community.

🌟 🏏Girls Cricket at HCC 🏏🌟

This summer, we are launching our girls section at Heysham CC. No previous experience is required, come down and learn the game from experienced teachers, ECB coaches and our very own women’s county cricketer, Charlotte Whitaker.

All sessions are fun and free, and will build towards a fun tournament on the 9th August.

🌟 🏫 Year 6 Leavers 2026 🏫 🌟

Today has been a rollercoaster of emotions for our amazing Year 6 children. They shone brightly today at Holy Trinity Church. in their Leavers Worship and sang so beautifully their rendition of Three Lions. 🦁 🦁 🦁

They enjoyed a fabulous ‘Leavers Lunch’ courtesy of Amanda, Abby, Lesley and Paula in our school kitchen. They were even treated to sweet cones 🍬 as a gift from our kitchen team. 💙💛

Then came the grand Bolton-le-Sands clap out which, as ever, didn’t disappoint! 👏

This wonderful group of Year 6 children have shone and made so many wonderful memories here in school. They, and all their families, will always be a part of BLS and we wish them the very best at high school! 🏫

👋💙💛 Fond Farewell 💛💙👋

As we say goodbye to two wonderful members of our team, we want to thank them for everything they have given to our school.

💙 Mrs Thornburrow has supported our KS1 children over the past two years with unwavering positivity, kindness, dedication and hard work. She has made such a difference to the lives of so many children, and we know she will be greatly missed. We wish you every success in your new venture!

💙 Mr Tregent has taught Grasmere Class with enthusiasm, fun and dedication since October. His commitment to the children's learning and wellbeing has been clear to see, and the children will miss him enormously. We wish you the very best of luck in all of your exciting adventures ahead.

Thank you both for everything you have done for our school community. We will miss you! 💙

🌟 🏆 ⚽️ 🏏 Sporting Success 🏏 ⚽️ 🏆 🌟

We are incredibly proud of this group of Year 6 children who have shown incredible commitment to school sport this past year.

Here at Bolton-le-Sands it is our promise that all children will leave Year 6 having represented our school on the sports field. This year our children have achieved this more than ever!

As a school we continue to offer the largest number of extracurricular opportunities in the area and we now regularly compete at a regional and national level with state and private schools.

The row of trophies 🏆 which sit in front of the children in this photo is a testament to their commitment, drive and desire to represent our school to the best of their ability. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.
