🌞 Willow Class had a fantastic day in sunny Grange-over-Sands! 🌞

The children enjoyed a wonderful day out, starting with a train ride across the viaduct. They loved feeding the ducks in the beautiful ornamental gardens before taking a stroll along the promenade, where they stopped to enjoy a picnic lunch.

To round off the day, they had lots of fun at the play park before making their way back to the train.

The children were a credit to our school throughout the trip. They were exceptionally well behaved, enthusiastic, and showed excellent manners all day. We are so proud of them! 😊👏

There are some moments in school that stay with you forever, and our Key Stage 2 production of The Wind in the Willows will certainly be one of them.

I honestly can’t put into words just how incredibly proud I am of each and every one of our children. Across three incredible performances, they sang, acted and spoke with such confidence, professionalism and bravery. They gave every rehearsal and every performance their all, and the result was something truly special.

To our fabulous four… you were Toadally fabulous! 🐸 The stamina you showed across all three performances, the quality of your singing and the way you brought your characters to life was outstanding. Every single child on that stage should be immensely proud of what they achieved.

One of the greatest privileges of being a teacher is watching children discover just how capable they really are. A school production is about so much more than learning lines and songs - it’s about finding the courage to step outside your comfort zone. Seeing children who once didn’t want to step onto the stage now standing in front of a packed audience, confidently delivering lines or singing a solo, reminds us all what can happen when we encourage children to face their fears and believe in themselves. That growth is something no one can ever take away from them.

“That’s the wonderful thing about home. It’s not just a place you go back to - it’s a place that you carry around in your heart.” ~ Ratty ❤️

As the curtain came down on our final performance, it wasn’t just the end of an incredible show – it was the last time our Year 6 children performed together on our school stage. It’s hard to believe how quickly the time has gone. I hope they leave with wonderful memories of rehearsals, laughter, friendships and the confidence they’ve gained along the way. They’ll always be part of our school community, and I know they’ll go on to do amazing things.

As we leave the riverbank behind, I’ll certainly miss the rehearsals, the songs and all the fun we’ve had bringing this story to life. You’ve set the bar incredibly high, and we definitely have big shoes to fill next year!

A huge thank you to our amazing staff for the time, energy and commitment they’ve given to making this production such a success. Thank you also to our wonderful parents and families for helping children learn their lines, supporting rehearsals and buying tickets to cheer them on. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Finally, to every child who stepped onto that stage – thank you. You have shown courage, determination, teamwork and so much talent. You have made your families, your teachers and your whole school community incredibly proud.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. What a cast. What a team. What a production. ❤️🌿
