Some of our Otters class have been enjoying our new chess club with Glenn each Monday morning. As well as learning the rules and strategies of chess, pupils are developing important life skills, including patience, concentration and good sportsmanship. We’re learning how to be gracious winners and gracious losers, showing respect and kindness to our opponents whatever the outcome.

Today marks the start of our Feedback Fortnight: an opportunity for children, families and our partners to share their views, experiences and ideas about services and support available.
This feedback will help us understand what’s working well, raise awareness of support, identify barriers to access, and shape future services for children, young people and families.

Please could you take a few minutes to complete the survey and also feel free to share with any families via your own platforms 😊 Each survey completed is very much appreciated!

Butterflies have enjoyed celebrating space week this week, we enjoyed spending time in the sensory suite engaging with the interactive wall and floor playing space games. We took part in space themes attention autism sessions and enjoyed creating lots of space themed crafts, building our hand muscles using the dough and using 3D shapes to make rockets. Well done Butterflies!

Acorns have worked super hard this morning in My Citizenship. This term we are focusing on 'Knowing myself' so we have been looking at our favourite things and creating an all about me poster. Whilst some of were busy running the school shop, the rest did some really good engagement and followed simple adult prompts to cut out our pictures and stick them down. We then enjoyed sharing some of our favourite nursery rhymes. Well done Acorns 🤩

In recent weeks Daisies class have being thoroughly enjoying Music Mondays! 🎵 🎶

This week Daisies have been working super hard to showcase and solidify their learning around key words stop, go, fast and slow. ✋🏼 🐌

They began the session with a stage one Attention Autism bucket focusing on key language stop and go. 🪣

They then transferred their engagement to stage two of “mystery instruments”! The lead adult played three instruments out of sight and the Daisies had to listen super carefully and communicate what instrument they could hear.🥁🪇

The BEST part was stage three of the session when each and every Daisy engaged in a turn taking activity where they would each bang the drum that was filled with rice and watch the rice bounce EVERYWHERE! 🍚

Daisies didn’t stop there, they were flying into stage four of the session which was a huge team effort. Daisies followed both verbal and visual cues of the key language stop, go, fast and slow as they played instruments of their choice along to the catchy tune “play on your instruments” on YouTube.🎼🎷

This could only be described as a musical extravaganza. Go team Daisies! 🥳🌼
