As we approach our harvest festival celebration on Friday, we have been exploring all there is to offer in the season! We have printed with apples, counted with conkers and today we explored pumpkins! We started with discovering what we could see and feel, and describe them. And then we had a go at freeing them from elastic bands for our funky finger time!

We studied the colours and patterns on autumn leaves we brought back from forest school, and then we used paints to make our own. The children had a try at mixing their own orange and green paints! Super work Early years, they look amazing!

We had an amazing time in the forest this morning, learning all about how the trees change in autumn! We also built homes for woodland animals!

We had a super time for our first session in the forest this autumn! We played games, practised following our forest school rules, hammered pegs and played in the mud kitchen! What a super morning!

We’ve been exercising our big body movements and our funky fingers! Playing on bicycles and popping bubbles, building towers and cutting and sticking faces!

We’ve been having lots of fun creating our own pet faces and then playing pretend by being cats and dogs! In the tuff tray we have been working our shoulder muscles, using big tools to make pet food!

Wow! What fun we had in forest school today! We made an autumn mural using autumn colours, leaf prints and blackberry paints. We made birthday cakes in the mud kitchen, and we practised our balance on the outdoor equipment! We even had a little bit of sunshine!
