About Me:
I am a Science and Chemistry private tutor who has 30 years experience teaching Lower School Science, Combined Science, Triple award Chemistry and A Level Chemistry. I am confident that by us working together, your child can reach their potential in an extremely rewarding subject. I have taught and tutored in four different secondary schools, the most recent being Southam College which
consistently obtained an outstanding rating and Princethorpe College which has a glowing national reputation for pastoral care. I have pastorally tutored students in schools at all ages, providing support for co-curricular education as well as academic endeavours. At Southam College, I set up and ran the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme which was extremely successful and rewarding for students. I have been observed by colleagues and visitors on many occasions and my lessons have always been cited as best practice due not only my subject knowledge but the positive and friendly manner which I have with students. I have a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry and a PGCE teaching qualification. I specialise in teaching:
Science at lower school. Biology, Chemistry and Physics up to GCSE. Chemistry A Level. My philosophy is to build up self-confidence in the lessons I teach, which inevitably leads to an improvement in scientific knowledge and grades.
