Affirmations support us to set an intention and focus, challenging unhelpful thoughts and maintaining a positive outlook and are great for both children and adults alike.

There are so many different ways to apply affirmations. You can use a daily affirmation calendar to set a clear focus and intention each morning, with an opportunity to acknowledge at the end of the day what you did to achieve the affirmation.

I love working with coaching clients to identify shifts in behaviours they wish to make. Being coached to create long term personal positive affirmation statements really helps to focus on committing to making that change. The key – surround yourself with the statements and share your intentions with others. Even if that means writing them with lipstick on the mirror so that every time you wake up in the morning your reminder and affirmations are there!

A great article here to answer questions around why practice positive affirmations – and were to start.

Daily positive affirmations can be a super-refreshing way to use self-talk, to turn around negative internal messages and motivate ourselves instead

Great discussions in small groups today with a client for 10Eighty
ILM level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management. Getting the group to think about leadership vs management.

Ayoa Whiteboards came into their own (replacing old school physical flip charts and post it notes). Participants took full control of their whiteboard, moving their virtual post-it-notes into each category.

Here's a work in progress from a group deciding what to put where! They did ask the right question though: "Is there a middle column for both?" - A realisation how fluid and evolving leadership and management are.

What tools and tips do you have for replicating flip chart moments in virtual delivery?

Celebrating International Lego Day today January 28th!

As a Certified Advanced Facilitator of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method and materials, I am lucky to have a lot of lego in the house :-)

At the start of lockdown March 2020 I pulled out all my boxes of lego to create a space for my children to escape into their own worlds (and for my husband and I too!)
Little did we know these lego plates would still be occupying the same space a whole year on…and these creations are being reimagined, recrafted, rebuilt and recreated as another year goes by.

- Creations of memories
- Creations of feelings
- Creations of the future

Just because we are working and operating in a virtual world, doesn’t mean that has to stop us interacting through a 3D medium.
There is so much power and impact in taking a mindful moment to create a 3D representation of your thoughts and communicate through and with the bricks.

When you want to facilitate a team meeting or 1-2-1 coaching that will have a long lasting impression, then get in touch to find out more about how LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method and materials can create a new way of thinking and communicating.
