At Glenholme Nursery, we offer a nurturing home-from-home for children aged 0–4 years 👶🏼👧🏼👦🏻 Provide home cooked, healthy meals for all children and special dietary requirements are catered for by our nursery chef. We offer transportation to and from all local schools. We are a bilingual nursery. We also run a After School Club for pupils of Johnstown School and a Holiday Fun Club in all school holidays (the Holiday Club is for ages 3-14 and open to children from all schools) All staff are NVQ Qualified from levels2 to level5 and all of Glenholme's staff have been part of the team for 5years+. 🌧️🧥 A little weather reminder for our families 🧥🌧️

As the weather is starting to get a little colder and wetter, we kindly ask that all children come to nursery dressed appropriately for the weather. 🍂❄️

Please could you make sure your child has a warm coat and suitable, cosy clothing with them each day. 🧥🧣 We still love getting outdoors whenever we can, even when the weather isn’t quite on our side! 🌦️🍁

We would also really appreciate it if you could provide plenty of spare clothes in your child’s bag, as we all know that nursery fun can sometimes get a little messy and wet! 💦👕👖

We would like to say a HUGE well done to all of our wonderful little ones who have started their very first days at school! 🥹❤️📚

We are honestly so incredibly proud of each and every one of you! 🌟 Watching you grow from the little ones who first walked through our nursery doors into the confident, kind and amazing children you are today has been so special. 🥰🌈

🍂🍁 Our New Theme is Autumn! 🍁🍂

We’re super excited to be starting our lovely Autumn theme here at nursery! 🧡🌳

We’re kindly asking for a little help from our families! 🥰 If you’re out and about on a walk over the next few weeks, we would really appreciate it if you could collect any Autumn treasures you come across along the way 🍁🍂

Things such as conkers, pinecones, colourful Autumn leaves, acorns, twigs or any other natural Autumn resources would be amazing! 🌰🍃🪵

We’ll be using all of your wonderful finds throughout our Autumn theme in our tuff trays, sensory play, crafts and activities 🎨🍂✨

🎬🍿🍟🌳27.8.2026🌳🍟🍿🎬

We started our exciting adventure by heading off to the cinema! 🎥✨ For some of our little ones, this was their very first cinema experience, and we have to say… they were absolutely BRILLIANT! 🌟👏🥹

The children settled in with their popcorn 🍿 and watched Chickenhare and the Secret of the Groundhog 🐔🐰🎬 — and it’s safe to say it was a BIG hit! 😍😂 They watched so beautifully and were completely fascinated by the big screen! 👀✨

Once the film had finished and somehow ALL the popcorn had disappeared… 🤔🍿😂 we headed off to pick up some yummy chips 🍟😋 to take back to nursery for lunch. After filling our bellies and having a well-deserved rest following our busy morning 🥰💤, we decided the fun wasn’t over just yet! 🎉 We went to visit our friends in Holiday Club 👋💛 before spending some time playing, running and exploring in the park 🌳🛝🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️☀️

Days out like this are full of fantastic learning opportunities too! 🧠🌈 The children developed their confidence and independence while experiencing somewhere new 🌟, practised their listening and attention skills during the film 👂🎬, and developed their social and communication skills while chatting and enjoying the day together 🗣️🤝💖. Our trip to the park also supported their physical development, balance and coordination through lots of active play 💪🛝🏃‍♂️

The children were absolutely AMAZING from start to finish! 🌟👏 They behaved beautifully, listened so well and made us incredibly proud 🥹💖 A day full of first experiences, yummy treats, adventures, laughter and lots of happy memories! 🎬🍿🍟🌳🛝🥰✨

🐐🐹✨️ 18.8.2026✨️🐹🐐

First of all, we would like to say a HUGE thank you to Hayley for very kindly bringing her wonderful animals into nursery for us to see, hold and gently pet 🥰💖 The children are huge animal lovers, so you can imagine their faces when they realised there were real-life animals in nursery! 😲😍😂 The excitement was definitely through the roof! 🎉🐾

We got to meet all sorts of amazing animals, from tiny quails 🐥 and cuddly guinea pigs 🐹 all the way to a mini goat 🐐💚 The children absolutely loved getting up close, carefully touching the animals and learning more about them 👀👐✨

We talked about their different features, sounds, movements and how we care for them, helping to develop the children’s understanding of the world, vocabulary and speech, language and communication skills 🌍🧠🗣️. It was also a wonderful opportunity to practise being gentle, kind and caring towards animals 💕🐾

The children were absolutely AMAZING throughout 🌟👏 They listened beautifully, followed instructions and were so gentle and respectful with every animal 🥹💖 We couldn’t believe how calm they were considering just how excited they were! 😂🙌

A massive thank you again to Hayley for giving our little ones such a special experience 🥰🐐🐹🐥 We think this is definitely going to be one they’ll be talking about for a while! 😂💚🐾✨
