🅿️ Great news for our Kip families!

As many of you know, Kip McGrath Carmarthen is based right in St John’s Car Park, so the newly announced changes to Carmarthenshire’s council parking charges are particularly welcome for us.

🚗 The first hour of parking will be completely FREE!

After the first free hour, Carmarthen town centre parking will cost:

• £2 for up to 2 hours
• £3 for up to 3 hours
• £4 for all day

This is especially handy for parents bringing children along for an initial assessment, a quick meeting or drop-off and collection — and hopefully makes visiting us that little bit easier.

We’re delighted to see a change that supports both local families and Carmarthen town centre. 💙

Not every child fits comfortably into a traditional learning environment — and sometimes learning needs to look a little different. 💙

At Kip McGrath Carmarthen, we’re exploring how we can better support home-educated children and young people who need an alternative or more flexible approach to learning.

Alongside our academic resources and qualified teachers, we’re looking at ways of creating a calmer, lower-pressure environment where children can work at their own pace, build confidence and gradually reconnect with learning.

This is particularly close to our hearts for children experiencing emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), as well as those with additional learning needs or who simply haven’t found the right fit elsewhere.

We’re starting small, listening to families and seeing what works — which is exactly why we’re running our Home Education Saturday trial session in October.

If you’re home educating, considering it, or looking for something different for your child, you’re very welcome to get in touch for a chat. There doesn’t have to be a one-size-fits-all answer. 💙

So many parents come to us and say, “They’ve just lost their confidence in English/maths.” 💛

That’s why we always start by finding out exactly where a child is and meeting them there. If there are gaps from one, two or even several years ago, we go back, fill those gaps and build from a place where they can experience success again.

And that growing confidence is often the biggest change parents notice. Although we specialise in English and maths, we regularly see children begin to flourish across other subjects too — because when a child starts believing “I can do this,” it can change so much more than one lesson.
