ℹ️ Tips for Transitioning -

⭐️ Start Early: Introduce a free-flow beaker or open cup at 6 months alongside solid food.

⭐️ Go Free-Flow: Choose a free-flow cup (no valve) so that liquid flows easily, which is better for oral development than sucking-focused bottles.

⭐️ Replace One Feed at a Time: Start by swapping one feed a day for a cup, gradually increasing this.

⭐️ Make it Fun: Use a cup with a favourite character or colour to make the transition appealing.

⭐️ Remove Bottles Completely: By age 1, bottles should be being phased out.

💧 Water and milk is all they need and best for teeth.

Our Preschoolers have been celebrating World Oral Health Day by taking care of our BIG mouth. They have been learning about the importance of cleaning their teeth, taking care of their teeth, visiting the dentist and a new tooth brushing song.

They each used a toothbrush and toothpaste to clean all the teeth and some ‘floss’ to get the food that was stuck in the big teeth.

They enjoyed making the teeth ‘all shiny again’ 🦷🪥😁

On Saturday it was World Down Syndrome Day, so today we have been celebrating this.

We have joined in with a ‘Rock your Socks day’ where we have been wearing our colourful socks to nursery. We have also been busy decorating our own Rockin’ Socks to take home.
We have loved exploring our fine motor skills, mark making and exploring all the different colours used.

Happy World Down Syndrome Day! 💙💛

Play looks different for every child and that’s exactly how learning grows. 🌱

From solitary exploration to cooperative play, children move through stages that support social-emotional development, communication, creativity, and problem-solving. Play isn’t random; it’s a powerful pathway to connection, confidence, and understanding the world around them.

When we slow down and observe, we can see children practising sharing, negotiating, imagining, and building relationships; all through play-based learning. ✨

Let’s celebrate the many ways children play and remember that every stage is meaningful, valuable, and part of their unique learning journey.
