Last week we said a very fond farewell to our wonderful Jodie, after 5 amazing years as a Nursery Practitioner. 🥹🌸

Go along and meet the crews!

A group of children from the Yellow Room recently visited Dobcross Farm in Gaitsgill, Dalston, where they had a wonderful time watching the calves and learning about the milk making process.

The children explored the milking parlour and observed the machines used for milking cows. They also encountered a variety of animals, including calves, sheep, hens, and ducks.

The children had the chance to draw pictures of their own cows.

The journey to the farm by bus added to the excitement of the morning.

Ben has been working hard on our front outdoor area and has written about what he has achieved...

‘Outdoor play is essential for young children's development. It boosts their physical skills, aids mental well-being by reducing stress and improving confidence, and helps build social abilities through teamwork and communication.

Activities such as exploring nature, climbing, and playing in the mud offer fantastic sensory experiences that indoor play can't provide.

Considering all these benefits, we decided it was time to refresh our front outdoor space to enhance these valuable play opportunities.

Since January 2026, we have been hard at work enhancing our front outdoor area to make it more inviting and engaging for the children. We had some fantastic support from Jude Coupland, an early years and childcare advisor from Cumberland Council, who assessed our space and provided valuable suggestions. The outdoor team then sat down together to create an action plan for transforming our outdoor space and achieving the vision we have for it.

Jude also helped us gather the necessary resources to create a wonderful outdoor learning environment with help from Rebuild and her own collection.

We've set up some exciting new areas for the children to explore! First, there's our soil exploration area with a bug hotel, where the children love using magnifying glasses to check for any visitors. They have also been enjoying digging in the soil with gardening tools.

Next, we've introduced a new sand area, making it easier for our younger children to join in on the fun. We've brought in old milk crates that the children have used to build obstacle courses and bridges. Additionally, we've created a new music wall and added fresh storage spaces for all our wonderful resources.

We believe these new activities will spark creativity and inspire exploration among the children.’

Today is Carina's last day at Kinder Park Nursery, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank her for 12 incredible years of dedication and care.

Carina is returning to Portugal to be closer to her family, and while we are excited for her next chapter, we are incredibly sad to see her leave.

Carina became a valued member of our team when she joined us in September 2014.

Over the years, Carina has touched the lives of countless children and families, building lasting relationships and creating many wonderful memories. Her kindness, commitment, and passion for her work have made her an integral part of our team.

Carina will be greatly missed by both colleagues and families alike. We thank her for everything she has contributed to Kinder Park Nursery and wish her all the very best for the future.

We send her our love and best wishes as she begins this exciting new adventure back home in Portugal.
